Thread should just be locked....
Even if its creation is wrong, its continued existence will just spill over anyway.

If anyone has posted any pictures up, they jolly well take it down of their own accord. We do not owe them a living.
what about pictures that are already available on the public domain like this?

Yes, we're not even talking about pictures here. Yes, it is wrong to even have discussions about things we see. Ricebowls have been broken before.

Ricebowls were broken due to their own stupidity in releasing everything to the public.
you really want to try right.....

It is not wrong to have any discussions as long as sensitive information is not leaked here. But it seems in the previous thread, many of what is not supposed to be leaked are already said. I don't know the rationale of moderator to lock the previous thread but most likely the previous discussion have reached to a point that it might get the threadstarter and other innocent parties into trouble.
If the moderators say lock, then just stop for the moment. Why is there the need to give the moderators and the forum trouble by being stubborn? This is to prevent other troublemakers to cause trouble to the people who work in the respective companies by leaking whatever information. Maybe threadstarter has no intention to cause trouble, but there are many troublemakers who are just too stubborn. Since the buses are already here and there is a new service amendment to KTPH coming up, these buses will be registered soon. Why not wait till then discuss?

Then you want this stupidity to happen again? And isn't it stupid to discuss all these here now?
So how many ricebowls you people want to break then you troublemakers are satisfied?

Fine. You have a valid point. If you want us to stop, we will stop.
But I will expect this discussion to stop ON EVERY PLATFORM. This includes sgforums and any other locations that it may be circulating. If I see this being continued anywhere else, I do not see a reason to not continue.
You see ah....more glaring threads being dug up.
I'm outta this.

Because some people are just plain selfish and are hungry for information from others at any cost, at others' ricebowls, at others' expense.

I get really upset when previously somone's kind intentions was regarded as plain stupidity. If you think that someone has been doing the wrong thing, then you can just stop him, instead of giving him trouble and break his ricebowl. Someone wants to be a "good saint" and act smart, do something destructive and instead of being grateful to this kind soul who wants to share information, he gets this person into deep trouble and make his life difficult.
Now good, everything just have to be monitored more closely now, because of some troublemaker's selfishness, stupidity and irresponsibility. And no more exclusive informations in future because of this. I rarely want to insult personally but that guy must really be a jerk.
Good, all the moderators must be firm on this issue from now on!

People spotted the bus on a public road or from a public road. They spotted it with their own eyes. Is it wrong to post it on here? Is there some kind of lockdown of information or something?
I know some people are stupid enough to leak information out and get themselves in hot soup, but I'm sure there's none of that happening in the present situation at hand. The vehicles were legally seen and were publicly viewable. Is there anything wrong with discussing it here?
original TS leaked out information on its whereabouts, leading to people snapping it. the company cannot deal with the public, but they can deal with him.
there is no grey area about this. some things are publicly viewable or published, yet the act of an insider making the viewable become more viewable is still an offensive act.
TS has been advised to remove the pictures. it may help to mitigate if he gets called up to explain.

You see....
If someone wants to challenge authority, they can just try it themselves to understand that just perception and suspicion of wrong-doing is enough to set off some undesirable actions.
As for not bothering about those who had been "kind enough" to share, says so much about ethics, eh?

I'm not sure whether you understand me, but I am not talking about the threadstarter for this thread. I know he meant no ill intentions. Maybe he don't know what had happened in the previous case.
What I meant was something that had already happened and it is outside the context of this forum. If you really know what had happened to this bus community months back.

Ethics? What Ethics?

look at it as a start of a new beginning. maybe that guy has better prospects elsewhere than to slog in the sunset industry of local land transportation?
there are 2 sides to everything.

What I meant was that while his actions....are not laudable, should be appreciated and taken at just that.
What we see here is the irresponsible dispensing of info.
If we could just wait a little and not want to clamber around the fences at the slightest tip-off, isn't it best for all?
If they don't understand what they are jeopardising, it does say much about their take on ethics. (their lack of)

Sunset industry? It wasn't to begin with if the government isn't there to interfer and control so much on it.
Like I said before, LTA interfernace to the central bus planning only spells more trouble to the industry and more ricebowls breaking in future.

as a moderator, i don't want to be blamed for not taking offensive posts out quick enough to prevent others from getting into trouble. if it's offensive remarks between users it's not bad to trash it out at the least. but for confidential information, if anyone wish to post, they will be responsible & not the moderators.

Why are you still protecting this "good saint"?

I respect your decision. well, let the troublemakers face the music then.
On a side note, I feel sorry for those people involved in something unfortunate. No wonder people are leaving and is breaking apart.

This is what I feel.
Maybe he is just a kid and he doesn't even know what happened last year which was a great misfortune. I wasn't really protecting him, just that I want him to know the consequences of doing such things here.
To me, he might be just an innocent party who know nuts about that misfortune and who is the real "good saint" that turns out to be a jerk.
I just hope that we are on the same frequncy and know what am I talking about.

As long as these information shared are deemed right by the poster which could mean he has the rightful permission to post openly AND as long as the moderators are comfortable about the sharing of information, I'm fine.
But the threadstarter has already had hestitations after some point of discussion of this topic and moderators had already locked on the topic twice before, then something must be very wrong already.

Hi,
What is the "good saint"?
All i want is to have a discussion of the Citaros.
let's reach a compromise. The only thing we wanted was to discuss about the citaros, but now we cant because some guy decided to leak out info.
So here's my plan. I'll give you 48 hours for everyone to remove anything and everything that could possibly implicate the former TS. Tell him to remove it, beg anyone else to remove the info, I dont care, just get it done.
After that, I would expect to be able to discuss about the citaros freely and without anybody thinking that I am trying to implicate anyone else.
There needs to be an end to this, and I am sorry if it seemed that I was out to cause any trouble.

If you are really sincere about this, no discussion of new Citaros until the first day of revenue service.
Guys, my advise is please stop all arguments. Fact is that Citaros already arrived, and TS saw it when passing by. Previous thread already locked by mod and pics are already advised by mod to be removed. This thread does not have any pics, so why not we just continue to discuss on this topic other than flaming instead? Cool down man.
2 cents worth. :)
Cheers.
