Before you both argue any further, do you know how fare revenue is generated under the current fare structure?
last time was more straightforward - you pay how much for that ride = how much that bus earns.
This time its slightly more complicated. and that's part of the reason why travelling below 9.2km have a steeper climb in fares than the longer distance ones..

The only diff is NEL, there's something w/ e 15c to 25c fare jump at 7.3km. You travel below 7.2km on underground system, if the next leg is on a bus, the 10c bump is not applicable.
The 9.2km I dun see any issue because you've forgotten the old structure had a 20c increment till fare stage 10.0 (equv 8km).

I believe that BBDEP should have transferred some of the Striders over, but still no confirmation over this. Btw is there any spottings for SBS2751D?
If the Volvo MK3s are back to perm 109 again, this would be the worst thing that HGDEP ever did. Back to reality after enjoying its "EEV fantasy" since Aug 2009 when the last perm MK3s were withdrawn from 109.
