In 2005 - reverted back to two-directional service.
I want to say that Vicamour ever told me 159 used DDs before it was amended to ply Lorong Chuan.
And so, is the extension to Sengkang made 159 skip Ave 3 & 6 / ply Ave 8 instead?

Thanks. By the way, it's been more than a year since you contribute the history of bus services. Are you free anyway? Can you please put in the history of Jurong / Boon Lay Bus Services if you are free?
For Jurong & Boon Lay Services, I will only put up the years between
1978 and 1990.. The rest of it is easy to find out so I won't add it up
here
Initially, the idea of the new Bus Interchange opening was unfolded when
its Jurong Town Bus Service Rationalisation Exercise was drawn out on
1st June 1978, and it coincides with the Jurong Bus Interchange opening
along Jurong Port Rd. The common reason for the rationalisation is to
minimise route duplication & re-organise its bus service calling
from a single bus interchange as a hub of public transport.
Here is an overview of the Jurong Bus Interchange Services for a start [bracket indicate former terminating point]:

Thanks, but for the remaining, cos I noticed the routes of the services that plied Tuas / Industrial area had been continuously changing, I think I need more details. And there's 188 as well, I remembered someone saying 188 had never plied Jurong West St 72 & Jurong West Ave 5 in the first place, only after a certain amendment in a certain time then it is amended to ply the two roads.
At Jurong Bus Interchange, during its 12 years of operation, its concourse was upgraded in 1987, with a canteen located upstairs and opened to the general public. A self-refilling point was also installed at Jurong Bus Interchange.
Service 192 was introduced from Jurong Interchange to South Canal terminal but was subsequently withdrawn.
In Jan 1988, there were feedbacks about the Jurong Bus Interchange that is located out of the way, when Boon Lay / Jurong West housing estates were partially developed and furthermore, there would be an MRT station constructed nearby (which is the present Boon Lay MRT Station). The feedbacks draws out positively and proves to be true and Jurong Bus Interchange would move out on 30th June 1990.
With the Jurong West New Town development was ongoing, those relying on feeders will have to travel all the way down to Jurong Bus Interchange to transfer to other bus service or utilise the nearest bus stops for a faster destination. A feasible & convenient bus interchange is called on, during its development stage in the late 1980s, when the MRT was also under construction back then.
(Boon Lay Bus Interchange opens on 1st July 1990).
Before its closure, these are the services that used to ply at the interchange:

154 - To Eunos
157 - To Toa Payoh

188 was Jurong Int to Jurong West St 91/92 when it was introduced
When Jurong Int closed, it was amended to serve Jurong Bus Park and was withdrawn on 20th Jan 1991, together with 175.

I believe the first 242 here had been withdrawn by this point of time, because before the bus interchange is closed, there's already a second 242 introduced from Lakeside MRT and loop at Jurong West St 91.
And I would like to ask, did service 10 ever terminate at Boon Lay before?
Service 174 was never amended to Boon Lay Int when Boon Lay Int opened on 1st July 1990.
It was amended on 7th Apr 1991, when the NTI side took over the bus terminus for their own internal shuttle service.
Another pointer about Service 165:
It was from Ang Mo Kio to Boon Lay from 1st to 6th Jul 1990, and when Boon Lay MRT opens on 7th Jul 1990, the service was shortened to Clementi Int.

242 (Jurong Int to Kang Ching Rd) never start off as a full day service. Same as 244.
Service 242 & 244 were introduced to supplement Service 240 during peak hours.
Service 10 was shortened to Clementi Int after the closure of Jurong Bus Interchange. Don't forget that it will also duplicate part of the MRT line just before the Boon Lay MRT opening should it be amended to Boon Lay.

Service 450 was handed over to Scheme B Services after SBS withdraws its route with the closure of Jurong Bus Interchange. It was known that the service was amended to Boon Lay MRT Station and was withdrawn totally when SAFTI moved out its premises from Pasir Laba Camp to its present site of Upp Jurong Rd.

Thanks, but my main point is that those amendments and changes to Boon Lay Bus Services (mainly feeders and services that served the industrial area like 79, 192, 193, etc.) was very confusing in the 1990s and 2000s. The services has major route changes which I couldn't find anywhere, that's why I need someone's help to find out the routes of the continuously amended services.
Actually 165 could have been kept to Jurong East Int. Well, least to take in TradeHub21's crowd.
Anyway, for Jurong East/ West New Town back in 1980s, there was Sv 98.
334, 335, 336 linked ppl to Jurong East since then.

154 was from Macpherson Est.
206 was more likely because the last kampong was resettled in 1993.

I believe 154 is amended to Eunos either before or on the day it was amended to Boon Lay.
And did anyone know how did 192 and 193 get their routes today?
192 started off as Tuas Ter (Pioneer Rd Extension) to Boon Lay Way (Lakeside MRT Stn), when Service 175 was shortened as Bt Batok to Tuas Rd.
The changes reflect between 1st & 7th Jul 1990 respectively.
On 1st Jul 1990 (opening of Boon Lay Int), the service was amended to Boon Lay Int to Boon Lay Way
On 7th Jul 1990 (opening of Boon Lay MRT), the service was extended to cover Tuas Industrial Estate, to cover the former Service 175 route. Service 175 route was shortened to loop at Jurong West St 91.
When there were new bus stops erected at Tuas Industrial Estate to provide bus service coverage, Service 192 was amended to loop at Tuas Ave 1. It was amended to Jurong West St 64 & Jurong West Ave 4 and was swapped route with Service 193 when Tuas Terminal opens in Jan 1998.
Service 192 was also amended to cover the former Service 250 route on 11th Feb 2001 (JIS Rationalisation).
193 was started off as a loop service from Boon Lay to Tuas West Dr.
The service used to run along Jln Boon Lay & Upp Jurong Rd in the ealry days, until it was amended to Jurong West St 64 & Jurong West Ave 4.
When Tuas Terminal opens, Service 193 swop routes with Service 192.
If you realised closely as to why Service 192 & 193 were amended to cover Jurong West St 64 & Jurong West Ave 4 is because it provides more coverage for residents living in Jurong West who wants to head to the Jurong /Tuas Industrial Estate.
Also, not just the above reason alone, but the cut off of part of the sector of Upp Jurong Rd. Part of Jurong West Ave 2 & 4 is part of former Upp Jurong Rd.
The current Jurong West Ave 2 is also part of the ending sector of PIE (34km mark), and thereafter it leads to Upp Jurong Rd (the current Jurong West Ave 2 & 4 and the junction of Corporation Rd)

Listen to the last part of the video.
The sound of the ancient ex-SBS bus, Albion Viking – SBS1149A
Wow, this is so classic. I remembered the roaring engines of these beasts.
