I just don't know why SBS had to amend it to skip Tampines Street 84 before amending it again years after it become a part of 291 to ply Tampines Street 84 again.

Yah I rmbr..., that time before Townlink 291/293 introduced. All I can say, I hope before these bus operators amend/withdraw etc. whatever bus service, they shud ask for feedbacks from the public before deciding..
For example I was quite pissed off when they extended svc 147 to Hougang and skip Potong Pasir in the past, leaving only svc 142 (that was quite unreliable then) there.
Also upset when svc 158 was amended from Bdk - S'goon to S'goon - Tg Rhu.

From what I saw in TransitLink Guide 1992, service 142 was already amended to loop at Potong Pasir Ave 1 instead of starting from Potong Pasir Terminal, but 147 still plies Potong Pasir Terminal. Think this was why 147 was merged with 83 in March 1992.

When svc 147 was amended to skip Potong Pasir, there were lots of complaints from residents. Svc 147 linked to more areas than svc 142, were the preferred bus then. And of course, Potong Pasir didn't belong to the main ruling party then so.....(I don't need to explain...).

SBST should extend 82 to Potong Pasir so that the residents can have a bus service to Northeast region at least.

Actually I have suggested to SBS way back in the 90s..and last yr abt another bus to serve Potong Pasir. No reply till now. Don't think they will agree on another bus to NE region due to NEL duplication...

I wish I would know the answer as well...probably Mercedes-Benz OF1417s?
I went to the National Library again and record down the registration dates for the Leyland Olympian 2-axles, Mercedes-Benz O305s, Leyland Altanteans, Scania N113CRBs and Mercedes-Benz O405s.

I am only stating some examples bro...
Back in 1979-1980s, the registrations of the Leyland Altanteans are as messy as the registration of the Wrights...
Starscream, what is the route of service 219 before it was extended to loop at Bedok South Rd & Bedok South Ave 3 in 1986?
