Citaro is a nice bus 100 time better then KUB, I wonder why SBS never buy 1000 of them instead of KUB? KUB bus is the most lousy bus SBS ever had. that is after taking it on service 28 and compare to a KUB bus on 28. I think this bus should be in service that serve long distance like 28 or use for trunk service. and use KUB as feeder bus as it is very rocky. there no need for so many DD bus but need many of this type of bus. so comfort you never feed like getting out of the bus. use it in 138 is a good try as many tourist can take the bus to the zoo.
compare to kub citaro is a good bus kub very rocky and is the most lousy bus sbs ever get. sbs should get 1000 of them to replace DD bus or use it for trunk service. compare both KUB and Citaro both on 28 KUB very rocky. 138 is a good service as it serve tourist from the zoo to AMK mrt station. Good bus to buy. Actually compare the old 405 this is even better one. compare 405 to kub i think sbs better to get rid of KUB than 405.
Good move for service 138, finally a mass upgrade. It had all the while been neglected among other AMDEP services which all got Scania K230UB upgrade.
SBS1916C remains on service 138 due to full body ad.
Looks like the Volvo MK4 DMs were a temporary replacement for service 138 after all.

No wonder why I saw a Citaro at Ang Mo Kio Interchange.

SBST never buy previously because the cost is too high.....considering the original cost of buses + exchanges is way much higher than KUBs... i believe mercedes have given SBST a good price for these 300 Citaros, and with the strengthen of S$... it does help bring down the cost of Citaros.....
just for example, in 2008, 1 Euro = S$2.11 , last year when the order was make, it was around 1 Euro = S$1.70.... if a bus cost 200 000 Euro, the different is around S$82000....

I disagree. There is still a need for more double deckers. Took 28 during evening peak but the Citaro or any single decker can't handle the crowd well. Would be better for more double deckers for more services to cater the increasing population in future. Maybe you should do your part. Send positiove feedbacks to SBST about the Citaros and probably they might consider buying more of them to replace the outgoing Volvo B10Ms in future.
x2
Some K310UDs to join SBS7888K would be nice.
I'd rather some double decks to replace the B10M
tat's better

977 is crossover from 135? most likely AMDEP will deploy citaros on Sv135 as well to replace the MK4.....

In time to come, the Citaro A/C would be a problem. However there are more seats in Citaro but not alot of people will like the back facing seats especially the elderly.

Sorry for any misconceptions, I was referring to the crossover thing mentioned by him.
Duplicated post deleted. Come back again sometimes.
I dont mind 1100 KUBs...but my worry is they are going the way of the CDGE B9TLs....are the new buses that hard to maintain? I hope the Citaros dont go the same way.
If this trend keeps up, they might turn into another Trident problem.![]()

Not so sure about that. Cause 977H was spotted around 4-5plus. Then around 6plus, 1916C joined in, making it 6 buses in the fleet at that time.
