yeah nothing is perfect. Imo there are certain down points about Citaros currently
1: Despite the Bluetec5 sign, it generates lots of smoke and leaves behind lots of soot too. Look at the bumper. And the exhaust placement. Should have positioned it to the right like the Citaros and Citaro Gs in UK
2: Certain hiccups here and there (doors cant close properly, bell sometimes sound for no apparent reason, EDS malfunction).
I just heard a Citaro roaring on 53.
Oh no.

bus of the year in what area? maybe the Citaro in europe is too good to be true, thats why they awarded the title to it... Well come to a tropical country like SG, and one starts to see adaptation problems alr... Like 6014Y. Nonetheless, still my favourite bus!

i took 6003D in the late morning a few days back and the airconditioning was considered quite cold even though outside was blazing hot.

http://www.ameinfo.com/98472.html lol European.
Yea i agree, adaption problems, but it should be a learning experience for the techs at MB & SBST to modify/tune the airconditioning to local climate.
remembers the first few days of the C151A trainsets in operation, the rolling stocks also had initial technical issues, most seems to be ironed out by now.

the K230UBs Euro IV batch 1 had a lot of engine vibrations when they were rolled out, together with the jerking and the seemingly sensitive braking system and the rear row of seats was quite hot.
most of the K230UBs Euro IV's initial problems have been more or less fixed or reduced.

As for the bells, they are are all "click sensitive" and not "push sensitive", what makes this worse is they are all installed exactly at elbow levels. Just need someone carrying a bag or someone to slightly bump into it and off it goes.
I would also add the voith gearbox as a issue here, as the sbst citaro cannot cruise easily at 60km/h with it. This would cause higher fuel consumption, and stress to the engine components. The current configuration makes it very suitable for start-stop traffic, but not so much for expressway services.

theres this BC of 6038D on 53, well he said he preferred the K's brakes more. but he overall enjoyed driving the Citaro more, says that theres little noise, very smooth.

not all problems can be fixed if it is design issues like the A/C.. Maybe they can do the similar modification like what they did for the MB 0405..

it'll quite odd to me with the current eyeball outlets on the white panels of the Citaro

i agree totally.

thats why i prefer a ZF citaro... but well, the way SMRT SLs over-rev ZF Habits and Citaros makes me worry
