In what ways? It's because the SMRT Citaros are slower?

SMRT Citaros are WAY faster than SBST Citaros. SMRT SLs zam accelerator like theres no tomorrow until redline but I think it reach top speed in 9 secs! but on top of that, crappy maintenance and harsh driving meant that they deteriorate faster. On the other hand, SBST BCs take things easier (most of them), more careful with maintenance and they do more than just driving the bus.

today i took both the SMRT & SBST Citaro, and it happens that both SLs on their respective trips kept zamming the accelerator lol
But the sound of the high rev sounds crisp and nice.

one thing i like about the SBST Citaro: It is so similar, yet so different from my 2nd favourite SD: the SMRT O405. Same company, different era. Even the door opening pneumatic sound seems the same. Even the Citaro's D854.5 sounds so much like the O405's ZF 4HP500, without the purrs and howls of course.
but yeah, when they rev the engine, they do sound nice, but think of the Habits man~

Nearly everything is identical for both SBS Transit and SMRT Buses' Citaros, save for the interior configuration and colours and the rims.
The door systems are of the same brand too.

Slight differences: SBST Citaro granny seats there got more grabpoles. driver seat material different for each operator. SMRT got PIS (never working) while SBST dun have. SMRT Citaros sit lower to the ground while SBST ones sit slightly higher.
And SMRT Citaros crumble faster too
. My respects for WLDEP for making SBB142J's grabpoles vibrate like that on an OC (Decided not to put KUB if not too evil
)

yea, i mentioned it as save for the "interior configurations".
when the OC500LEs had their PIS installed, it took quite a while before the PIS display the next stop name.

It is blasphemy to compare Citaro with KUB!

Well, since u mentioned it, the door opening and closing pneumatic sounds seems the same because both the hispano O405 and the Citaro's doors are all made by Bode of Germany (or its subsidary Bodo-Bode in Turkey).
The good thing about the citaro is that its much much quieter compared to the O405 or even the OC500LE, even when they rev the engine, its doesnt get too loud.
If a smrt citaro passed by you at 60km/h on the highway, you probably wont even hear it because its just so quiet when crusing. On the other hand, a O405 has the distinctive howl that is especially audible at night when speeding down the e-way.

Thanks for the info on the doors there :D
but if an SBST Citaro passes u at 60km/h, can u say it is as quiet? considering the higher rpm...

Haha, thats a good question. I havent chanced upon one passing by at 60km/h yet.
I've heard the SMRT Citaro once when it was crusing along PIE back to depot, was sitting down at opp trellis tower bus stop.
