They should've given buses 'longer than that' like 9504E 9594U etc not like 9360C which is less than 6 months.

Suddenly the last 6 months is spent becoming SP only. Some bus transferred became spare for a period of time

i think doesn't matter VO3X B1 or B2 to SL in the end when this B1 ended then they can get new DDs again .

Might as well scrap all from the first batch that are coming near to the end of lifespan immediately...there's no point extending them if SBS Transit is not going to utilise them properly.

what do you mean by SBST not utilizing them properly? u mean SBST use the batch1 to do other things? they use it to send cargoes?
there is a need to extend batch1 due to SBST unable to assembly more B9 in time due to BSEP requirement and there is nothing wrong with SBST putting Batch 1 as spare.. maybe SBST should put all new B9 as spares instead and put Batch 1 on perm service.

I agree. SBST rather put B1 on spare than the brand new WEGs. In all terms, it is more cost effective that way. Maintenance of newer buses is less, fuel efficiency more compared to older buses. Can have AC problems, tire issues etc.
Always better to keep resources SPARE because if you need it, you can pull it out of your back pocket and use. It is irritating to see the new buses as SP.
SBS9536M's lay up extended till end of lifespan...

Actually I was thinking that SBS is letting them run until they breakdown so they wouldn't waste the old buses. Like that also could save maintenance costs.

Quite a late update from your previous post, but 9627J do have repainted rims as well. Just updating you. ![]()
Volvo Olympian 3-Axle (Batch 2)
Lifespan Extended To 20 January 2016:
SBS9403M, SBS9405H
Not Extended; De-Registering On 20 January 2014:
SBS9404K
Think that SBS Transit is now serious to fully get rid of the Batch 1s...not even a single bus from the January 2014 batches (that received lifespan extensions in January 2012) are receiving further extensions whereas the Batch 2s have already received theirs.

Since it is spotted at BNDEP lay up corner, should be awaiting de-registration then.
