SMRT Buses seems to be really wanting to live up to Singapore's name - "Singapura"!

Perhaps to reinforce the 'Singapura' image - (Sanskrit: à¤¸à¤¿à¤‚à¤¹à¤ªà¥�à¤°, lit. Lion City) they purchased a fleet of NL323Fs with the MAN Lion City (Hybrid) bodywork to run about in this city state, and the Hybrid design has "Lion Hair" and a Superlion mascot to represent the bus! Not to mention that SMRT Buses carries red and white colours of the Singapore flag.

Coincidence? :P

Heard that Superlions are hybrid bus given that SMRT's MAN NL323Fs A22 are Lion City Hybrid bodywork and virtually silent when idle when sitting at the front half of the bus, and sound level's soft when it is driving/cruising~

The era of SMRT's Superlion A22 promotional advertisement/livery is over -SMB189A, the last bus with the superlion ad has been replaced with a Dove ad.

Iirc 189A was the last bus recently to still retain the promotional livery until recently, didn't manage to keep track of the rest.

DETAILED information about MAN SMB388S~~

> When the bus reverse, there's no white tailight lighting up.
> Bus have an "octopus" sound when the driver lock the acclerating(unsure what's that called, the driver will apply when the bus stops).
> The "BUS STOPPING" cover/casing is different from the usual MAN A22. It have a smaller wording on it, compared to the current A22 MAN which have bigger one.
> In-between the bellows, there's not much cooling air flows
> Behind at the headrest seat, the aircon duct is blocked.
> Wheelchair area : There's additional bell for PIW and it's somewhat like the KUB style position.
> Front mirror(interior) for the driver was turned from horizontal to vertical.
> 1 reader is off-ed
> Bus seriously feel powerless, speed and aircon. Probably because of the driver's first time driving.
> Translucent bellows

Anyway, bus today(27/4/2013) was badly lambat-ted. Back bus TIB891C became it's front bus for 2 trips~ and it bunched with TIB891C after coming out from PIE, when TIB891C is the next bus with intervals). Both were packed to the door..

do u think ppl will move all the way to the rear since the space for standing is so narrow from the 2nd exit door onwards

what gearbox? ZF or voith?
