Only when someone shouted for them to move. But most of the time, they just stop at the rear's face-to-face seats.
Not sure about the gearbox, but the bus seems to be "tired", like a human moving with a heavy backpack.

Voith... there's a bit of Habit Voith sound when travelling...

Mandy is very popular filled to door so SMRT should launch 150 more Mandys ASAP~

Sometimes I can feel for those people who are irked by their actions in the bus~

A bit powerless maybe because of the BC. It was okay on the first day when the Indian BC drove the bus.

(This is a leetspeak bus 1337)
Leet (or "1337"), also known as eleet or leetspeak, is an alternative alphabet for the English language that is used primarily on the Internet. It uses various combinations of ASCII characters to replace Latinate letters. For example, leet spellings of the word leet include 1337 and l33t - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet

The guess is that it's probably due to the 2020 full wheelchair accessible fleet, and if some of the old TIB-era buses are left to run to their full 17 or extension to 19 years, it would be hard for SMRT Buses to transition to a full WAB fleet by 2020 due to the space in depots (given the replacements cannot come in until the old buses are gone). Unlike SBS Transit, SMRT inherited a younger TIB fleet and doesn't have the luxury to extend all the models.
Also, by bringing in the clean Euro V zero step wheelchair accessible buses like the MANs sooner, it also benefits all the passengers in general in terms of environment, comfort and accessibility - and also the wheelchair bound as more wheelchair accessible bus routes can be introduced quickly.

I saw SMB1362* driven towards WLDEP on Friday at RP bus stop.

Some models like the Scania L113CRL and Dennis Lance could be sold overseas and converted into mobile homes/offices. I have seen some decommissioned transit buses in Australia that had undergone similar conversions.

SMRT followed up order with another 200 A22s. Attached is the link: http://www.man.eu/en/press-and-media/press-releases/MAN-delivers-200-chassis-to-Singapore-60288.html
It means there will be 400 MAN A22s by SMRT Buses vs 750 Mercedes Benz Citaros by SBS Transit. The lacklustre maintenance and cheap quality bodywork of the A22s are deteriorating the condition of the buses further.

Is the second batch of 100 buses included as part of the 200 buses newly ordered?

Hi. I'm not sure. Probably so. I wished they opt for a better quality European bodywork. In any case, what do you think of the sliding plug exit doors sytem of the MAN buses? Do you think that the design is seriously flawed? Is there an exit door system whereby, when the doors slide open, you can practically view the inside mechanisms? What if some idiot decided to try his luck and put his hand inside? I've seen the cover of the exit doors of the MAN A22 rattling when it's speeding. This is caused due to poor design and the fact that it was not secured properly.
