But the flipdots seem to be individually lit if my eyes are not failing me. Can anyone confirm?

Your eyes are not failing you, the EDS is one of the special ones used in the Hispano O405s as the backlighting for the flipdots is using individual LEDs installed next to each flipdots. That's the same system used on the lances and some habits.
The normal Hispano O405s have fluorescent light tubes as backlighting instead.
... that striders are going for a matt desto paint???
That SMRT Wldep buses getting worse day by day?Suspect there's a foul play among the technician side.Either buses getting sabo or engine under servicing

WLD Depot I don't see them having a system to follow with. The fleets are still volatile and can change anytime.

The front EDS seems to be Lawo Aluma though, correct me if I'm wrong...

that SBST svc 161 is now 10 years old? It is introduced in Sunday, 2 June 2002 provide fast and direct links between Hougang, Sengkang and Woodlands via TPE and SLE
That Wrights were introduced to 109 on 28 May 2012, which is the same date as the introduction of svc 109, 28 May 2006

6 years was all it take to upgrade Sv 109 from the initial Mk2 fleet (from HG), and the Mk3/Mk4 combined fleet (from BN) till the Citaros, KUBs & even Wrights today. Slow and gradual upgrade from the Mk2s to Mk3s when the Mk2s were de-reg, and also the upgrade to KUBs for both sides later on. ![]()
I have to say that the rate at which Sv 109 grew, while significant, also highlights the upgrade of Sv 5, which was launched a year later in Mar '07, and yet over the years, also upgraded its initial fleet of wholly SD fleet of Mk3/4s to now a fleet consisting of Wrights, KUBs, Mk4s and Citaros.
Might be an unfair comparison if you compare the initial starting point of their fleets (majority Mk2s for 109, Mk3/Mk4s for 5), and also the different demand conditions (bypass Orchard vs bypass Sengkang to Changi Village), but just wanted to bring up the improvements of both services. ![]()
