It shows how much of SMRTB maintainance all the time. Damn terrible.
The EZlink card reader isn't even SMRTB property and they can't even maintain them properly.

SBS8030L's card reader also not working..
Not working is common for buses everyday but is it damanged till this extend where the internal circuit boards are exposed for this SMRTB?

SL don't bother report, depot staff dunno. all depend on SL attitude. that's why lots of things are left unfixed

i believe they are taking out old readers that are functioning to replace faulty/broken readers.

SL is not employee of SMRT?
SL attitude is independant of the co.?

I believe this happens on the day itself, not sure about the situation now~ But I think no matter how bad SMRTB maintainance is, this got nothing much related? :/ Anyway, I guess SL also don't wanna pull out a bus back to depot just for that small issue.
Cause this type of readers(including new ones) are easy to be damage~ Perhaps a huge force hitting or leaning on it for a long time.

Really?
Then why I don't see such damaged ones on SBST buses? Why does the one on SMB136C suddenly dropped off? Why does a few bendy buses have missing EZlink card readers near the 3 doors for months?

BCs attitutites defines how SMRT policies work. If SMRT can't be bother to train their BCs properly in the first place, how would the BCs know what to do and what not to?

quite dependent on the supervisor also. some drivers really inform minor stuff like minor damage to the bodywork and it was fixed 2 days later. SMRT AMDEP buses are the most horribly maintained buses buses in SMRT's fleet. from what i heard KJDEP depot supervisor made it compulsory for SLs to clean their buses daily too. the missing readers on bendies case, probably depot waiting for new readers to come in before replacing.

doesn't matter, as long it still delivers the same meaning

These damages isn't really much related to the maintance issue. It all lies on how the passengers touches it. One can elbow it accidentally if he lost his balance on bus. 136C case is because passengers have been leaning on it. The more impact it received, of cause it will drop off eventually, try it on SBS Transit buses then?
Unless their reader are made of steel...
If the maintance of the company is not up to standard, why we don't see it happening daily?
The missing reader for bendy buses happens before the new reader was introduced, probably to replace some that are old/not functioning on other buses. They take it out on purpose.

Let me ask you, if nobody lays a impact on the reader(by leaning on it, grabbing it when bus moves etc. that's produce a big impact), would the reader be damaged till this extend??
Anyway~~ Got another shot of Lance(TIB1012S)'s reader open up after passengers hitting it~
170 BCs have to go Serangoon Interchange for briefing and leave application? Its under West district

For 136C, they forgot to lock the ezlink reader onto the backplate.
The lock can be seen from the bottom of the backplate.

Oh..but still dropped because someone accidentally hit it~ :/

I know this might be a long shot, but it wouldn't have dropped after someone hit it if they lock it properly.
The point is that this might be something small, but what if they forgot something more important like a radiator coolant cap and there's no procedures to double check? The bus could catch fire halfway through the day after the hot coolant evaporates away.

But TIB1070Z is another difference case~ Don't tell me a high class maintance cannot lead to that situation(Where the reader is smashed)?

I don't know elbowing an EZlink card reader can result in such damage? Even it is being hit at such extend, it could have produce a very loud sound that will have alerted the BC. Seems that the BC doesn't even care about the damage, neither does the depot do. Don't tell me SMRT do not have spare EZlink card readers for backups?

It's already replace bro~ With another old reader.
I guess SL did noticed it earlier before, but 1 small reader don't need to pull out from service right? Not as if the aircon is not functioning case. 1 small case nia, won't affect a lot.
Anyway, you don't know then you should start seeing..It's believed to be done on purpose~ by probably a big sized guy. But nevertheless, these reader can be easily broken~ Don't say reader, even the handgrips ![]()
