27 & 34 everyday have at least 1 Citaro cameo on average. True story.![]()
SBS6171B is posted to BNDEP. 1st day on the roads today on 518. (I guess today is its 1st day out cause no one edited Wiki's status before this)
The worse service to do for 1st day out because the BCs just love to floor the Citaros during off-peak for the fun of it. The engine haven't even run in yet leh. ![]()
Anyway, do keep a look out for 518's buses running around. If BNDEP needs urgently Mk4s to go around, 518 has an abundance of them if you can see where this is going. & 6155Z has been appearing on 518 regularly recently.

DEBUT ! : SBS6137B ON 82! [ HGDEP SP ]
I was like shocked to see like ' WOW CITARO ON 62?!?!?!'
Then I cleaned my specs to see that is is 82.
Then I was like : 'WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!'
This came to my mind : SERANGOON INT ILL-TREATED 82 BUT PUNGGOL INT TREATED 82 LIKE A BOSS!
It is not a matter of which bus int controlling the bus service. Reason why 82 did not get any new buses then is most probably because of the road conditions along the Punggol Road end stretch. Now that 82 no longer plies there, it is perfectly fine for new buses to be on 82.
The Citaros just sound fantastic when floored to the rev limiter. Wonder why BCs don't do it with the KUBs more often since the Euro IVs do sound great with their turbo whistle above 2300rpm or so. I'm noticing more BCs flooring the MK4 Striders which surprisingly has superb acceleration.

Agreed. I had expected to see new buses on 82 anyway when I first saw the news on the re-routing of that svc. Yep, SBS6137B is on 82 again today.
Pretty soon, 81 and 103 may just be the next few to get the Citaros (even though for 103 there may not be much)

Some other services in the east, like 19 and 37 as well.

Most of it is either from the services on Hougang Int or SP buses.
Kk.

Don't blame him, some Striders really have rotten acceleration after so long. ![]()

Cause the Striders are reaching to the de-registration and lifespan extension stage.

Haha yeah.
By comparison the 7 litres Citaro look powerful than K230UB in terms of Hp/Nm.
6730cc 6 cylinders turbo 282hp/1200nm vs 9300cc 5 cylinders turbo 230hp/1050nm.

Floor got wat use? After long time, engine will wear out.. You see the sorry condition of the CW1 & CW2 buses, roaring MAN engine and horribly high rpm but no power no speed.
If your rpm is kept high on expressway, you'll also wear out the engine and incr fuel consumption.
Dunno how to drive, dunno wat's the implication behind still say how good floor the acclerator is...
If SBST is getting more Citaros, I hope they get some with ZF 6-speed trannys instead of the Voiths even though they are incredibly smooth so that cruising at 60km/h will not incur high fuel consumption and give passengers a quieter ride. If only there were 5-speed gearboxes.
SBST's Citaro gearbox needs some tuning, the 3rd gear is activated at abt 30km/hr which is too low...
I wonder if the Voiths have the same gear ratios as the Citaros in Germany because I think the local Citaros won't ever be able to pass 65km/h, let alone 70+km/h required on the German roads.

The gear ratios on the transmission are fixed and can't be changed. What could be changed is the final drive ratio on the drive axle. Final drive ratio determines the maximum speed and effective torque of the vehicle.
