i find SBST's tuning better due to lower idle speed, they really got power at higher revs. maybe your ride the BC wasn't throttling at max?

but very fuel consuming.. Ever saw the f/c reading as the bus was packed.

Originally posted by Bus Stopping:The gear ratios on the transmission are fixed and can't be changed. What could be changed is the final drive ratio on the drive axle. Final drive ratio determines the maximum speed and effective torque of the vehicle.
Correct.
On the Citaro with 275/70R x 22.5 tyres, there's a choice of 5.27:1, 5.77:1 and 6.21:1, giving road speed of 99km/h, 90km/h or 84km/h respectively with a Voith DIWA.5 gearbox, or 117km/h, 107km/h or 99km/h respectively with a ZF-EcoLife gearbox. This is assuming that the OM 906 hLA engine is used. Because the OM 457 hLA peaks out at 200rpm lower, the road speeds offered by the above final drive ratios will be slightly lower.

The accleration of the Volvo B10M DM/Strider/DM3500 are just awesome ![]()
Especially ...
the awesome whistling sound of the DM ![]()
the awesome roaring of the Striders ![]()
the awesome speed of the DM3500 ![]()
I love all the B10Ms that served Singapore from 1990s - 2015...
[ Most likely after refurbishment ].
I shall miss them :(
DM3500s are really harder to catch in Hougang area now.
13 of them only...
Sigh...
My only hope lies in 43, 74, 82,103, 107/107M, 156, 159, 161, 165 and a few more...
Sigh... DM3500s are totally extinct especially for 88 and 325...
88 once had 13 DM3500s perming on it.
325 once had regular DM3500 camoes before.
Now, no signs of DM3500s TOTALLY from 88.
Most recent camo to 325 is from SBS2703T.
Now, extinct.
They should just use the striders on 160/170.
DM3500 should be used on 160 & 170.. Simply because it's just nice when the RTS is completed or 'did not materialise'...
