Never mind. I was just simply saying I never heard before VO3X doing 151 even before it turned WAB or after as well.
VO3X on 151 is not uncommon at all.
In fact, a lot of cameo also occur late at night where random HGDEP DDs just make a to-fro trip from HG Int before heading back to depot for the night.
got a pic of 9214S doing svc 151 for a few trips on a sun before returning back to its perm svc..
On a side-note, 161 was probably the only service that had used every major type of ADD you can think of at a single given point in time.
Definitely no other service has that distinction.
The simple reason is that you need a AMDEP/HGDEP combination....and a programme specially written for Tridents to ply. The last was not compulsory in fact. The first couple of times Tridents did 161, they just used a plastic desto on the dashboard.![]()

The last few years not so.
Some of the 0405s had terrible gearboxes
The worst was 3921Z
Every other day, the gearbox just goes into limp mode and the bus crawls around the main roads at 2nd gear.
And then scream down TPE still in 2nd gear.

But probably ZF is the most unreliable IMO. All kinds of problem encountered with it. Lock-up fail, gear slip, gear stuck, clutch grinding.
Voith seems to be the most reliable. The only 2 times I encountered problem was the bus refusing to shift into 3rd. That was all. Probably because Voith gearbox seems less complicated.
I don't like Allison.![]()

HGDEP svces often have late night "rare" cameo poping out. 1 good example is the KUB on 161(In year 2010, where they often pop out at night).

I'd been wondering when are these buses going to be registered.

I agree with you. I prefer Voith or ZF gearbox in new buses.

I mean I'd been checking OM for the last few days and I did not see any signs of registration for these buses.

Heh heh heh. You say you want faster buses but now since you like Voith gearbox, your buses won't be faster.
