So you were actually expecting it to be WAB? Looks like your wish came true... ![]()

Not exactly my wish...
Only that it's about time after the Citaros perm 83 for 2 over years...
And haven't been to Punggol lately so didn't really observe the progress of the Punggol Central stops...

The press release was published on 19-Jun but you could post it in SBST format on 18-Jun. Good source of information :)

83, 155 were long expected
121, 371 by default BSEP
sv 11 will go in next round.
Does 143M need to be stated separately? I don't think so.. already WAB.
Suspect 176 will be next... 187 perm and 963R Weekend buses on 176 nowadays for WLDEP side...
Originally posted by JurongWestresident:wait. before SBS Transit makes 179 WAB, they should really review the loading on the buses. I think there is an over supply of DDs on 179 during our peak hours (which is different than NTU's). Even as I am writing now (at 8pm), I can see from my house half-occupied DDs on 179, with the upper deck either completely empty or barely occupied (with a few empty seats at the lower deck).
meanwhile, bus services like 242 and 243 are experiencing under-capacity and people at the bus interchange are only able to board the second bus that arrives if a SD arrives during peak hours.
- where are the DDs on 242 and 243 when they are needed most?
- why are the DDs on 179 even when SDs are already sufficient?
before making 179 WAB, SBS should really swop the DDs on 179 with the SDs on 242 and 243 during our peak hours.
179 only requires a full-DD fleet during NTU's peak hours, not throughout the day.
Kind of agree with u..I dun know about 243W, but i see crazy loading on 242 and 243G during PM peak..242 should be getting more than just that one DD (3121R).

I agree for both. 242 needs more DDs for sure. If not perm, crossover from 179/ JIS during PM peak post 6pm should be implemented. 243G needs more DDs in PM peak than am. It is just the opposite for 243W. Maybe good to crossover some DDs from W variant to G.
I think the bus servcie is not WAB.

DELETED

This is not the bus involved...in the first place, the stomper seemed to hint that there is a WAB logo placed in front of the bus, which could be a Wright or a K230UB...

243G/243W is a WAB service.

I know...my main point in that post is to clarify some observations made about the bus.

There are quite some svcs which have been getting E5 KUBs for years & are older in age than your Sv 83 Citaros. And yet still not give any WAB status yeah after about 4 years...
Services 121 - 139 is the only non-feeder bus service page on SgWiki that is fully WAB.
Next for WAB: 11 (if the B10M is Split shift), 42 (if the B10M is Split shift), 81, 153
With 27 WAB buses, 74 should also be ready for WAB.
Meanwhile, 179's bus fleet/route is quite similar to 199's, yet unlike 199, 179 is still not WA. I am just wondering. Is the reason because most (if not all) of the bus stops along 179 route at NTU are not WA, that's why until now, 179 still not WA?
