What do you think of folks spending their time taking bus rides as part of their hobby ?

but buses are by far and large the most economical means of land transport, considering that a substantial number of bus freaks are students, like me , so it isn't that we got lots of time, just that we have to take them daily, and bus spotting just make the journey a little more interesting and meaningful..... -

Taking buses as a hobby is ok lar... But to the extent of even knowing the models of buses etc etc is simply too... I don't know. But you get what I mean.

Actually, I understand how many people here feel. My friends feel the same way too. They always say I am crazy, because I waste time trying to find out more about buses.
I used to be more active when I was in Sec 1/sec 2, everyday after school, without fail, I would take a bus trip to an interchange (I didn't care where), and then try to find my way back. But not so much now, since I am pretty busy nowadays, what with my "A" levels this year, I cannot afford to induldge in buses, even though I've a concession pass...... -

Not really. Some of our bus spotters do not have concession. We have a detailed plan before springing into action. Yes, I also do not have concession, have to pay adult fares. Most of the time when I go out alone or do sightseeing-on-bus, I will always plan what service to take, where to board and alight, what are the connections with other services etc.Originally posted by off_service:Not really. erm..I think is a bit weird lor. Especially if u r a teenager, u tell everyone in class that ur hobby is taking bus, they sure will try not to hang out with u. But hey, I sometimes do think that thinking bus can be enjoyable, especially those buses that goes interesting places. Ive travelled much on bus since my school is far away, sometimes u can get to see the beauty of places, but u will know that Singapore afterall.

If ur amibition is to be a well versed world traveller, and u do not have the $$ + the world is too messy, u can try travelling in Singapore 1st. But make sure u take a bus and see scenery but go to somewhere useful once u alight lah! k, peace!

i love to take buses cause can see lots things.. scenery.. relax.. listen to radio... but maybe if the NE mrt line starts i might start taking mrt! faster to travel to town! aww will miss the buses trip like now.....

but i still find it amazing... that u all wait for a specific service number with a specific number plate...
why like a bus??
personally i dun really like to take bus... take too long a journey i will feel sick...
