Don't believe, never mind. Unless SMRT decides to run only 30 services in future, else they have to switch to 12m buses to improve their overall operations.I rather SMRT don't waste more money buying bendies but instead buy single and double deckers.
Who want to find problems and enjoy doing it??? No wonder you guys like to troll the forum and give so many problems.I don't think SMRT will be so stupid as in your thinking. Their operations are already downgrading fast and their depot operations are made worse by the insuffcient parking spaces caused by bendies. In order to expand their fleet in future, it is best to get rid of the bendies and park more buses and also allow more buses to move freely within the bus interchanges and bus stops.
Our bus network and bus routes are expanding and by having more buses on the roads, LTA needs to look long term in avoiding bus jams and long bus queues which bendy buses will worsen these problems in future. Thus the need to stop such purchase of these buses.
What I was trying to say is that he claims that bendies are banned on the roads (which means the bendies should have disappeared long ago), yet they are still spotted on the roads, which means his claims are fabricated.
I think SMRT can have a choice to have a mixed fleet, with more rigids and DDs than bendies. Look at service 172, it is one of the services that cannot use DDs but it can use bendies (if I'm not wrong), a few bendies (not more than 10~15) will do. Those services (106, 169, 178, 190, etc.) that are DD accessible can use DDs, depending on their demands.

So you mean the buses need to be scrapped before their stat lifespan? Didn't know new directive would affect current and not new planning.
You can't have a mixed fleet.. Bus Int design would be problematic
I'm thinking, they're just talking to each other to get another one to flame... Whoever happened to be here and working in regulator or PTO... Actually the jokers are really the ones that can't moved on to what happened last year, because it's jealousy over information...
It's so that ends up they'll have control of all information and close down all the bus forum...
Figure this out, at this going rate, no one is going to get any information and mind you, regulators have their own FB and you can pose questions that can be openly answered...
Things can backfire very badly...
Before anyone starts exposing just who is who out in no time, better start packing up over the nonsense. It's better than getting exposed and getting into trouble.

178 doesn't need bendies - It is just a waste of space if it is deployed.
106,169,190 I feel should stick to bendies more. Mixed fleets wise, 2 should do the trick.

106 and 190 are the specially ones to kick out the bendies. Still find orchard road bus lanes and roads not crowded, is it???![]()
Hope SMRT to get DDs soon and kick all the existing bendies out of all trunk services. ![]()

What happened to the moderators???
Someone should hit the ban button.

No.
Madness.
Just look at the mess at AMK.
Just 1 bendy outside the last bus-stop at AMK before the interchange is enough to cause traffic to spill over into the junction.
Totally dumb move to use bendies.
That's 169.
Orchard service? Need I say more?

Orchard services using Bendies is scary shit to be honest. They weave in and out like nobody's business almost the whole day. It's scary enough to be on a speeding SMRT rigid in that area. What more can i say about a Bendy? ![]()
There are supporters of bendies.
Tell that to them.
Having bendies would hardly help what hub-spoke system.

Feeder?
Who want to go upstairs DD for two bus stop??

Actually, if bendies are that bad and such stuffs occuring frequently i think by now there would have been mass debates by the public over the said dangers. Something like what happen to the London bendies

No bro, you are partially right in saying so. It depends on the driver's way of driving to a large extent. But for many of those people, only Bendies are available for them to take from the areas where they live or board. And first & foremost, aren't public protests banned in SG in the first place?
Many of those people have no choice though, although yes the MRT is faster somehow.

Hmm, more of say on the media e.g stomp, forums, complaints to the media, which then raise a lot of attention to make it to the front page of national news, not those mass public demonstrations >.<. MRT is defintely faster but if need to connect to somewhere not connected via tracks, i still have to take a bus/walk
In Singapore bendy are feasible for intratown/feeders,industrial and short haul svc.969 also can use.But city svc like 190 etc may cause headache

It's not like 169 deploy all bendies as full day starters. Only 2 of them are full day starters, Which is 1225U and 1228L - I still feel that the crowd demand for 169 is on a full day basis, Which is the reason why bendies is deployed.

I took many trips on Solaris' buses while in Warsaw, Poland.

The level of comfort (seats) is quite good. But the radiator gives that howling sound...
Or perhaps it could have just been the (bad) maintenance done by the Warszawa Transit Authority...
Polish productions, and Eastern European in general, are quite solid.
Howling radiators again? Maybe not such a good choice then. Although they kind of seem like a good choice of buses with integral bodywork at a probably more affordable price then Citaros. If the Germans don't mind using them in Berlin, I don't think the Urbinos are that bad.

Actually 169's demand can be quite scary. There was once I took 169 on a Friday evening when it is raining, the passengers nearly filled up a whole bus!
i think LTA/MOT should be more flexible enforcing the 10 mins peak frequency..... they really need to look at the situation? for example those feeders leaving interchange in the am peak...for some feeders not much ppl taking from interchange. most ppl are going to work from home.. downroute trips should be planned instead... and for PM peak for feeders, should introduce those short working trips for some services..
and like sv94, PM peak departure from Eunos is 14-17 mins, but there are many downroute that start from airport road which improve the frequency to 5-10 mins.. really see no point in making the pm peak departure from Eunos to below 10 mins.. buses should be added to improve the downroute instead..

Isn't it the peak direction only?

Howling radiators are creepy! Like Scanias!!!
I wonder if the howling radiators are caused by poor bodywork design since all the custom bodyworks like the CDGE B9TLs and the Gemilang-bodied KUBs all have howling radiators while the newer Wright B9TLs aren't exhibiting any problems as of yet.
