SBS won't buy bendies..are you retarded?! SMRT possible but it's not even confirmed yet..and the new bus depot in woodlands may not be the sign that SMRT buying bendies
Service standard will drop if we continue on buying more Low floor buses like MAN or Citaro.
10 person standing is full liao... For Express 868
$280m is more or less the amount to buy 550 double decks... Else I'll take it that you're attempting to find chances to take, so tat ppl will find govt money is wasted.. playing politics again right?
mmm...

Why? Can't they just buy 150 each of different models?

Yeah, I think it has to do with the air vents on the CDGEs and KUBs not directing enough air to the radiators & hence not absorbing sufficient air flow, that's why it is howling to suck in more air. I'm no physician, but it's abit of logic.
The vents on the Wrights are indeed larger and further spaced than those on the CDGEs.

I doubt so because there are same buses that do not howl as much and they still have the same design. My guess would be 1) thermostat malfunction or 2) something to do with the radiator fan.

Or overrunning. And yes, if the KUBs hv the problem due to the bodywork, then no more KUDs for s'pore (sad!)

Uh yes, but if like what you said the radiator fan is not working properly, then wouldn't the inability to suck in enough air become a problem if the air vents are not properly aligned in the first place? It's more of like a combination of both these factors to be honest.

a man lion city bus is 65million each..
A DD (like eg. those wrights, costs about 70million each which is much more worth it to buy a MAN lion city bus..

Nonsense. Check your facts. Companies are already bankrupt after buying a few at these prices.

70 million? I strongly believe that even a DD costs much less than a Bugatti Veyron or Pagani Huayra.

Which is what I'm worried abt ppl these days.. complain here and there w/o realising who's involved..
Look... The argument is because more poly students are going onto local uni as the year goes.. OK fair...
But when the concession pass scheme started, it was taken poly students would go out to work once they complete their studies/ NS.
So now, I believe if that's the case, even JC students shouldn't be paying Sec school rate. Should be a new post-sec scheme to be fair. Now, someone has to pay more? By how much?
The buses is using govt's fund, not the bus co's... The concession in the first place is using adult fare collection to tamabah every concession

So most likely SBS Transit are in the midst of replacing the Leyland Olympians and Volvo Olympians.

He could be not very good at Maths. Otherwise he should say 'billion' instead.
According to Straits Times, the first batch of 550 buses under the government's $1.1 billion Bus Services Enhancement Programme will arrive by the second half of this year. LTA expects to roll out 70% of the 550 buses in the first three years, and the rest by 2017. Together with 250 buses that the transport operators will add, the fleet will grow from 4,000 now to 4,800
The 550 buses will be owned by the operators for the 10 years that the programme is in place. If the programme is discontinued after this period, the operators could either return the buses to the government or buy them at their residual value
The proposed parallel bus service looks like the same route for 190... from CCK using BKE and PIE to town. Question is run by who?
how u know? any info?
