He meant gas I think...(Carbon monoxide?)
Pri school didnt teach you that carbon monoxide has no colour?

It's Digital single-lens reflex .
Sorry, big mistake
Service 57 is the first joint control between Amdep and Arbp right?

soot is gas state
carbon monoxide has no colour no odour

... his giving an example of gases ...
complete combustion of hydrocarbons yields carbon dioxide and water
incomplete combustion would yield soot, carbon monoxide and even unburnt hydrocarbons
and diesel is a hydrocarbon, a much longer chain than petrol (mainly Octane)

In fact AM contributed more buses in the past.
The DD fleet especially.
Why did Ang Mo Kio Depot stop controlling service 161?
Because my grandfather decided one day that enough was enough.
Is there a certain damage threshold which determines whether buses get scrapped? Like say, why did TIB1105H get repaired while TIB1074M got scrapped despite both taking serious damage from fire?
What about SBS9149Y which got "langar" by a cement truck? Why didn't it get repaired instead of being scrapped?

Yes. Depends. Those damage that is not so severe like mirror cracks would only take a few weeks, If the whole front is 'almost gone' and there is no spare parts available on the market, plus it would take a very long time which wastes money in the long run, will be laid up till the de-registration date.
So... in the case of SBS 9149Y which lost 90% of its windows (I can't confirm if there was any other damage, apart from one busted panel when the cement mixer langar)
How long would that have taken...?
I don't know how long it would take unless there is an image of it. (SBS9149Y)
There is no full view damage of the bus, only this:
