Why is HGDEP in West District when it is so far from the west of Singapore?
Hi. Is there any bus driver here who can tell me what is that signboard that is installed in front of some bus parking lots at SBS Transit bus interchanges? What do the signboards say?
If I want to go to Seng Kang, Punggol, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Yishun, Sembawang, do I have to bring passport? ;)

Basically before 2004, there were 3 districts, East, Central and West. East comprised of hgdep (district HQ) and bndep, Central comprised of amdep (district HQ) and bram, West comprised of bbdep (district HQ), jrdep and jrbp, of which jrdep and jrbp shifted into the then new depot at Soon Lee (and the district HQ shifted to slbp). After NEL opened, a lot of routes from hgdep were cut and the then East district became significantly smaller in terms of routes controlled.
They then decided to reorganize the company and that saw the old East district spilt and closed as a cost centre. To even out the responsibility, hgdep went to West district, and bndep went to Central district, which was renamed to East district. By the end of the whole thing, Serangoon Int went from amdep to hgdep control, Eunos went from hgdep to bram control and Bishan went from bram to amdep control. And the remaining services under hgdep control at Bedok Int (7, 9, 66, 197) went to bndep (87 was not affected as it was considered a Sengkang service), and 39 switched from bndep to amdep and back.

Q: if I see a SMRT bus with the words "Training bus" on the signboard, driving on a road that has no SMRT bus service, is this an indication that there will soon be a new bus service plying that road, or is this just a new bus driver learning the route from (Boon Lay) bus interchange to (Bulim) depot?

KUB is low entry bought by SBST,OC500LE also low entry but bought by SMRT NOT LTA...A22,Citaro are all low floor..What i meant is there any chances that LTA will buy low entry buses in future??

Sengkang is managed by SBS Transit but who knows after the extension 965 can rest there?
