Talking about MAN,I got a feeling the new batch 1 12 m buses also the same engine but different bodywork.Ironic Scania also show interest in their N series product

Maybe they rejected, but I'm not too sure...
Don't blast me for this, because I AM NOT SURE...

I can tell you that it's not been rejected in any way
why the heck would SMRT reject DD if it accepts a bendy? furthermore im sure they recognised the importance of both DDs and bendies and would have a better idea on which bus is suitable for what kind of routes
the smrt drivers not train to drive DD bus?
i am about to mention something when this happens ...
dunno who bring up the COI thingy to say bendies is a problem ...
- train disruption cannot be happening everyday, right?
- you don't see any DDs on the NEL disruption bus bridging svc, do you?

cos Woodlands would end up having to shrink the no of sawtooth bays to fit the bendy bus properly.. ends up only 2 alighting bay, 4 boarding bay… each boarding bay has to cater for 4 svs, up from 3…
aiya.. no pt saying more… only know how to use vulgarity, laugh it out to duck… in reality, all jelly leg… dunno how to react…
WRI's case is ...
161 and 168 are in the wrong direction!
...
i fear for worst mess

SMRT had rigids and bendies right now

If ppl read the COI report properly… LTA VTL did asked SBST to boost bus capacity for the CBD svs…
Usually in such cases, can use more SD or use bigger capacity buses…
They use SD for NEL bridging is very simple… fast turnaround… those who tried looking at today’s disruption would realise what’s going on…
Did SBST’s iris indicate traffic jam at Chinatown area? No?
Train disruption cannot be everyday??? Do you see war every year??? So dun need to plan?
but why is SMRT still using the bendies?
think about the feeders ...
and how much is the DDs are filled with pax when they are on feeders, e.g. 241, 225

They clear a good long line of queue at BNL in the evening…
how much of the top deck is filled or rather how many empty seats on the upper deck?

FYI,222,240,241,291,334 DDs are fully utilized mostly during peaks.Ive ever tried taking 4 291 buses(3 DDs and 1 SD) between 0605-0850 and The SD west Bound only got more than 15 standees.Towards East bound totally packed like sardines.1st DD towards west is fully seated with few standees and towards east upper deck look ardy half full not to mention standees at lower deck.Between 0725-0825 both the DDs is packed especially towards eastern.

4 291?
oh no, this spells trouble if WDL is growing ... (some have said WDL is like TAM in the future)
291's case is different than you think. Many pessangers actually prefer sitting on the top deck if a double decker arrives from all my spottings.
There was a time when I wanted to take 291 late at night... amazingly 3 DDs with 2 SDs arrived AT THE SAME TIME. The 2 DDs in front are packed, along with a K230UB sandwiched in between them. The other DD and KUB was half-full.
I tried going to the top deck, but amazingly it was FULLY seated. Had no choice but to stand at the bottom deck. It was after the West Looping point towards Tampines.
some prefer sitting on the upper deck
(who would stand when there is seats above?)
years ago, i saw some jokers who went upstairs and standing ...
(overloading a DD?)

After school hours on svc 291 (west loop) can sometimes be very crowded. The first time was on a CDGE when the driver have to go up and "move" the students down. The 2nd time was on a VSO (after int) because the counter was stuck showing 55 seats available so a lot of people went up and found themselves stuck because more people already boarded the bus.![]()

the counter ...
SMRT's maintenance problem
masking tape
people running upstairs
....
CDGE
i still do not understand why is there a arrangement of seats parallel to the length of bus ...
