I have observed 113 a few more times now. The bus pax reduce to 20-25 on Hougang Ave 1 - that is 3-4 stops, my friend. I prefer that these DDs be added to 74, 147, 87, 25 and make them full fleet DD first. After all, people on these routes have to go standing for 15-20 stops, and that is not funny.

Does anyone know the timings during evening peak for 119 at Kovan MRT? I want to take the route.

I remembered seeing SBS9196X on 74 and 147 around 2006/2007. I think its ARBP 132...
Did anyone spot the Wrights on 119 today since it is a weekday, and wants to report the loading??

Now you probably don't get to see Leyland Olympians on 74 anf 147 anymore... ![]()

Punggol Int - Few people queueing,4 or 5pax during peak hours.
Kovan Station - 1 pax onboard
Hg St 21 - 7 pax onboard
Upp serangoon road - 6-8pax onboard (Around there)
Hougang plaza/CHIJ bus stop - 6-8 pax onboard
Sengkang East Way/Rivervale Dr - 10 pax onboard
Aft Compass point - 2 pax onboard
Then all the way 0 pax LOL.. -.-" If include me, then 1 pax....
BC just skip all the bus stops

Citaros should be more suitable for 119 for the moment. The service extension is too new for everyone to know in such a short while. Probably months later we can see the demand pattern. Not to forget that many areas in Punggol are still developing, chances that 119 to better utilise double deckers is higher.

I think deploy the DDs to replace the BSEP citaros on 87 and 168 first. Then the 2 citaros go and replace the 2 DDs on 119.
119 can be made better if it goes through some of the Estate in Punggol.
But it does not need DDs at the moment. When the demand is high enough, SBST can then upgrade 2 or 3 of the B10Ms into DD slots.

Agree. I dont think 119 needs DDs yet.
First, 25, 87, 88, 168 have to be made full fleet DDs.
The most bizarre idea was to have a Citaro on 168.
Why SBST doesnt want to deploy the 119 DDs on 113?

I was hoping for 113 to get DDs, but some users' observations concluded that svc113 is not DD worthy... Maximum 60-70pax onboard the bus...

Better to deploy on 161, 74 or 147...
161 no problem anytime can get DDs but rather than 119 better off give 113 or AMK Townlinks right?

Yes
...
119 DDs might be for trial only. DD on 119 is really a joke, look at the # of pax during peak hrs...
Test market la no harm.Another month still same then the DDs will be out.

I think DDs should be tried on AMK townlink 268. It will make very good use of DDs. Guaranteed peak hour loading will reach 100 pax.

What you mentioned is on weekend. We need to see the weekday loading, but again I dont think it will be DD worthy. The segment that can reach around 70 pax is between Upper Serangoon road to Sengkang MRT.
The bus should in fact loop the other way at Kovan. From JC it should go to HG st 21 and come to Kovan MRT and then continue on Upp Serangoon road than the other way. At Kovan MRT, its first stop is in opposite direction, and hence doesnt serve the purpose. It is really stupid of SBST to loop the service in the way it does.
119 on one side and 153, 82 on other side.

Bro, there isnt more than 10 pax on 119 during peak hours from kovan stretch to upp serangoon road..
If there is no 136 infront of 119, the maximum pax from hougang plaza bus stop is maybe 20pax nia.. if there is 136 how? I also got observe the dds running on 119.. Upper deck maybe 1 or 2 pax, lower deck 5-6 pax during peak hours..
Furthermore 119 is a school bus service.. SBST deploy DDs to this service when there are only 2 more days left to the 2 month long holidays.. Smart.
Better off give 113 :)
Anyway, i observed the loading of svc 163 dd today.
The queue was quite long but only 4 pax move up to the upper deck..
why sia? Lower deck packed but still got space for 20pax leh
Can see the ppl wait for very long le.

Where did you observe this queue? 163 DDs have the upper deck full. You see once and you post. 163 DDs are mainly for Sengkang East / West Way, YCK Road stretch as it is the only bus connecting, and peak hour loading is more than 70-75 pax for each bus.

Sengkang int.
Pax dont move up to the upper deck if they are heading home towards sengkang east/west way :)

i also observed this. There is always a very long queue at Sengkang Interchange for 163/163M. About as long as 372's.
Most commuters boarding from Sengkang Interchange are only dropping in Sengkang/Fernvale area itself. Hence its only a few bus stops. It is understandable why alot of them chose not to go to the upper deck, they rather stand. =.=
163's main passenger load will pick up from Sengkang West and Fernvale.. then throughout the stretch of YCK road, where it passes by Motorola and Apple and a few other industries.
Then the next wave of passenger load will be at Upper Thomson Road, as it passes by schools like Peirce Secondary School, Raffles Instituition (not directly, but at the side gate) etc.
Therefore 163M is for this purpose. I still do not see a point of placing DDs on 163M because it's underutilising. Passengers dont really wanna move up.
163 DD will be fully packed upon reaching Pei Hwa Secondary.. every bus will be packed, including DD.
I wont be surprised if BSEP Service 50 will ply there to cope with 163's load.

50 should ply through Punggol new estates, and new HDBs along Anchorvale / Compassalve Crescent as well to connect to Sengkang and YCK road (towards Serangoon). It should then turn to AMK Ave 3, AMK Ave 8, AMK Ave 1, Marymount Road, Bishan St 22, Bishan Int.
