Agree, MAN A22 is very good compared to Citaro or KUBs..
I don't think SBST will buy MAN A22. They like to buy same boring buses.
SBS Transit's King Long XMQ6121G Diesel Hybrid (will require further confirmation)
According to my friend's research - "In Singapore, ST Kinetics and King Long Singapore will also be collaborating with SBS Transit Ltd on a passenger service trial for the diesel-hybrid bus.". Source - http://www.stengg.com/AR2010/download/14_the_environment.pdf
So the bus will enter service someday. The third hybrid after the two Sunlong Hybrids it seems.
With reference to another near identical unit (credits to sv966 page).

Very good? I don't think so. It's very jerky as well and the rear aisle is crooked and slanted sideways. Worse compared to the Citaros.
However very likely the fate for this KingLong bus is the same as the previous Mercedes Benz OC500LE demo.

Well, i don't see many people complaining when taking MAN A22 compared to Citaro..
SBST reject OC and MAN 18.240 then bring in Sunlongs and Kinglong. Should be the other way round..

MAN’s complain is the capacity issue.. Which is something well known…At BPJ bus stop ppl will sianz 1/2 when it’s a MAN… cos lesser chance of boarding… I’ve ever hear ppl say ‘stupid bus, so small’...
You and your BPJ bus stop again..
So the Hybrid bus trail is successful or not? Any plans to bring in more?

But they choose to get more Mercedes Benz and Volvo buses instead.
SMRT is the one who first brought in the Zhongtongs and Yutongs anyway.
Many people complain about the layout of full low floor buses, be it Citaro or MAN. But at least Citaro is not jerky compared to MAN. MAN bus is very jerky when stopping.

If LTA wants full low floor buses and yet wants to accomodate more people, then get more double decker buses. Single decker full low floor buses are not able cater the increasing needs in future.

With the BSEP thingy, buses will get less crowded..
I thought they say they want to bring in more hybrid buses?

MAN's aircon strong only, but the wheelchair area sucks. Why? The foldable seats is a little big. It alr defeat the purpose of having that. PIW can't really sit back in comfort. Should have followed Citaro's sizes(SMRT).

Hybrid buses are difficult and costly to maintain at the moment.
Unless you want to help the bus operators to foot the expensive maintanace bills every month.

If SBS Transit is going to introduce the MAN A22, there isn't a need for the foldable seats. They can just exclude the foldable seats from the design of the interior.
This King Long has broken down or/and encountered problems like everytime its driven. It can't even seem to adjust its suspension as a wheelchair-accessible low floor bus. This bus does not deserve to be here, I'll take more KUBs over this. As with the Yutong, Chinese buses will require lots of effort (and money) in maintenance. And how often is SBS8000Z and SBS8001X on service? rarely nowadays.

Bus driver controls the suspension or the bus itself?
The bus couldn't raise its supension at all when it tried to enter a petrol station near my home.... as a result its rear floored the road... so neither, perhaps it can't be raised at all

In theory, this is a modern citybus, and i'm sure King Long has configured it with air suspensions, and the suspension/raisers that can be adjusted both by the driver and the bus itself. Probably when it first arrived, the settings were not configured properly or the driver's not familiar. Tons of possiblities.......
Like it or not, the vehicle will be trialled, it's mentioned in the PDF in my earlier post.

I'll assume the air suspension is at least controllable from the dashboard... if so the bus would not be needed to be raised manually by technicians. The setting to input air into the suspension is always there, it does not need to be configured except in the case of the MAN A22s, which is 'automatic' like the VSOs, but at least its high enough to clear most humps and radiants.

Driver raised the bus with some tools. Suspension lowered after exiting the petrol station and then drove away in limp mode thereafter, strictly limited to 10km/h.

'so neither, perhaps it can't be raised at all' - so was the raiser activated? and it was done at the exterior of the bus/under the bus? given you mentioned it's suspensions.

The rear of the vehicle would have been damaged.
