  Here in Tampines interchange, the Townlink Svc 291 always starts at the St.81loop. Whenever a new bus leaves the terminal on Svc 291, it would go to the St.81 loop before proceeding on to the St. 31 loop. Any ideas on why is this so? It makes for very irregular timing for those in the St.31 loop.

  Then what about those passengers waiting at the berth of 291 (towards St 31)? Are you saying that they will board the bus which go to St 81 first? I don't fully understand what you mean.

  Are you talking about the very first bus of the day, or are you talking about the first trips at any given time of the day (which I mean after the bus captain completes his rest)?
  
  If you are talking about the former, I don't quite think so. The first bus should leave for St 81 and St 34 respectively at the same time. But after then, the first trip cycle for any bus on 291 will begin at St 81.

  First trips at any given time, not the first bus. Heck, even the first bus goes to the St81 loop first. Any "new" bus leaving the terminal starts at the St81 loop. Although after the first or second trips, the timing may settle down, the St31 sector timing is often screwed, because more often than not the buses are always held up at St81.

  This is exactly the problem. Those passengers cannot board the bus which is going to St81 because it is ridiculous to do so. If that bus happens to be the first bus of the day, then those passengers will have to wait until that bus completes the St81 loop, before boarding it back at the terminal.

  Ok is it u all talking abt this:
  
  let me tell u a story:
  
  SBS 3664 is free to do a service now. it comes out of bedok nth dep and heads for tampines int after the admin staff assigned it to svc 291.
  
  meanwhile SBS3699 is ready to leave doing svc 291 and to return to depot. so SBS3664 will take over.
  
  SBS3664 starts work by first doing to St 81 loop before going on to do st 3x loop.

  1) why can't buses of 291 start on st 3x loop?
  
  and one more question to post:
  
  2) how will SBS3699 leave svc 291. by doing last on the st 3x loop? or does it leave by doing the st 81 loop last?
