Good news! SBS997A has a repainted roof!
Still not sure if HGDEP wants it to stay or not.

Hope SBST realizes that SBS997A can accomodate more PAX = More $$$ earned every trip compared to using a 12m bus. Put on crowded services like svc 27 could benefit the passengers also.
SBS realised very early on that having more 997A made no sense at all.
Same went for 998Y and 999U.
And in retrospect, thank goodness to.
997A is nice as a novelty....nothing more.

Svc 27 cannot use superlong, it would stuck. There are many narrow areas in changi airport, havnt you been there before?

Nah..
83 is the best. I've seen the Superlong bus filled to the brim in the morning..
Unless Changi Airport modifies it's berths into sawtooth berths. But it may take years to come and it is too redundant with the berths still working fine.
I always thought that Changi Airport can't use bendies but possible to use superlong. Well, leave at svc 83 still best then.

Actually it's other way round..
Bendies appeared on 858 before..

That is in early Jan 2012 isn't it? TIB866B plied 858 before 2001 as mentioned by TIB770T.
912U on sv197 today. 914P on sv45 today too. Last few days to 912U soon.
906M repainted livery and with additional LED signal blinkers on sv9 today.

Think it is only extended only that SBST wants to make full use of its lifespan for more buses in its fleet. Nothing much else matters...

I counted out the Superlong, as well as those that were de-registered before 2012 + those that will be sold (total 43 according to the tender notice given by TIB1218R)
Total 115 - 43 - 2 = 70.

your maths is good. but the tender notice did not say that all 43 buses will be the DM model.... pls do not assume things....

I am suspecting those DM with refurb blue seats but aren't refurbished with yellow seats will be sold. The rest will be striders. Don't think will sell and DM3500 since about 90% of them are on JIS services and more DM3500 will operate on them during weekend...
Sv42 finally has rectangular destos on its DMs seen on 993K today. Also, 988B is repainted and with polished head & tail lamps.

Some spare DMs, despite refurbishments, may be sold after completing its original lifespan as well.

Refurbished for the sake of the buyers?
986G (BN 17/17A) repainted. Body only. No repainted rims.
but black separator along sides of bus from previous matt-stickered (lighter purple) livery remains.

SBS910A and SBS911Y had been officially de-registered.
How long does SBS997A has before deregistration?
