It would be really nice to get the RHD Lion City. Those buses look so good.
They can built RHD version on condition the order must be huge le,If the co order 300 units probably MAN or Scania Citywide will have RHD.
Any official press release in Volvo and Mercedes Benz websites yet???
Hope these 450 buses(Citaro mainly) would have their rear doors fixed right at the end, before the 4/5 seaters, if LTA does their homework. Or else, you can expect the same thing of not moving to the rear incident happening even with 10k buses.
How can you expect a third door on the Citaro when the components are restricting it?

No third door. Just follow the three-doors concept BUT remove their middle door(left front n the most rear door).
You understood that what he meant was that the components are at the back right?

Engine.
The 450 Citaros will be Citaro Facelift (2006-design) models. They will have Euro V engines, most likely the same standard OM 906 hLA with 286 PS.

Means its not the new model. So we will be seeing 750 of this

SBST should buy serveral hundreds of Citaros [2011 model] to replace the retiring B10M Striders and DM3500s in the future.
im puzzled as to why SBST did not buy the latest version. after all the new version has already begun production few months ago.

i guess when SBST first purchased the 300 Citaros, they have an option to buy another few hundred of the same model? I guess they really wanted to exercise the option after the Citaro lived up to their expectations
I was really hope they buy the euro v after the current Sbst ones(Not the euro V) with different headlights and rear,Wheel arch also curve type.If that's the one then voila
Singapore – SBS Transit places order for a further 550 Volvo double-deck buses
After the award of 150 Volvo B9TL double-deck buses in 2009, and a further 300 double-deck buses in 2010, Volvo Buses has now secured a further order for 550 Volvo B9TL double deck buses with a value over US$ 200 million. The customer, SBS Transit, has once again opted for environmentally friendly Euro V Volvo engines, although these are not yet a requirement in Singapore, and Wrightbus aluminium bodies.

More like buying 750 at first, but deliever the news in 2 parts :/
I don't know what's so disappointing about having new buses on the road.
Get over it and appreciate the fact that at least SBST will be more likely to be able to provide more and better service when they arrive.
As for why its the old bus....its probably because SBST has now chosen to exercise an option.
hopefully the rego for 450 citaros will start from 6300 onwards
rego is 6300-6849?

EURO V will only be mandatory by 2014. Don't think SBST will get EURO VI engined buses until then.
Most likely after 2014, SBST might get a few hundred of the EURO VI Citaro C2 to replace the Volvo B10M DMs and Striders.
I certainly hope the 800 new buses will come with the ZF EcoLife 6-speed gearbox rather than the Voith DIWA 4-speed one. This will certainly enable better fuel efficiency if these buses are deployed on highway routes (the Citaro runs at very high rpms while cruising at 60km/h on highways)
