SMRT bendy bus on fire at Woodlands Circle

  Around 11.30pm at woodlands circle blk 767. heard explosion sound just now and the bus was engulfed in flames at the rear!

  Same model again and again. big problem with the bus design very bad.  Is there other bendy model catch fire ? I belive the bus design was by ferrari designer.

  Its because of SMRT lousy maintenance, TIB1067J got 'Jet engined' sound..
  
  TIB900K,TIB1063U, TIB1074M, TIB1105H and TIB1110S caught fire before..

  Damn!!! Maybe SMRT maintenance will get better.. I think SMRT should speed up buying new articulated buses like Citaro Gs!! As much as we love the old ones, we can't have them running forever!!

  Even so, it is too early to import now. You probably need to wait like 1 to 2 more years, after all they haven't even reached their 17th year of lifespan.

  The recent bus explosions and accidents are mostly smrt buses. That old Saw hag most likely cut down on maintenance and training during her reign of greed and incompetence.

  like at the list how many of them was the same design. may be another COI should call for the bendy bus burning problem.

  I wonder A22 or Citaro  a few years down the road will catch fire??? both of them under warranty for now but one or two later??? who know if SMRT don't improve it in house workshop  maintenance

  Not true. England did not ban bendy buses, only London. And the cause of the fire happens to be some fault with the mechanics of the Citaro and was fixed by MB afterwards. That did not led to the banning of bendy buses. It was banned after it was found out that it is taking too much road space and is posing a threat to the cyclists.

  On Sat I took RWS8 and guess what.. tyre got problem, the SL knew but likely no one cares...
