Don't care that SMRT bus services is detoriating badly partially because of bendies hogging up the spaces in depots, interchanges and bus stops, delaying other buses and make our buses less efficient, and making their planning of operations more difficult.
Never think about how hard it is for the technicians to maintain these complex parts of these bendy buses and how tiring for BCs to drive these buses everyday, just because they have to be more careful of the extra length.
No one yet has been killed by bendies accident yet but many have been injured by one on 857 few months back.
And yet no practical thinking of how to solve the problem for the future, and giving more problems for SMRT with your silly fantasies. LTA has already made their point indirectly, like it or not.
SBST operates DDs for more than 30 years, not much problems. SMRT operates bendies for only 15 years and
so much problems.
True to some extend, but how about rainy days or 3rd door spoilts or EZlink card reader cannot work???And how many time wasted by the queue of bendies in front so that this bendy bus can stop safely beside the bus stop to alight the passengers???

Problem is not just about the environment, even people are pissed with them.SBS had some DDs burned before, i remember saw the old 159 DD burned at old Toa Payoh bus terminal when i went there to catch a bus to school in the 80s and also i think about 4 DDs crashed into flyover under 4.5. in the past years. one driver drive through the under pass with the high 3.5 at near the kallang old PA HQ the road that link to old national stadium, that why you still see all the warning signs there.

I dun see the issue of using a DD for a feeder if ppl are willing to go up... No point having a 3rd door, since the boarding and alighting isn't a permanent issue throughout the whole route.

DD for feeder(esp. AMK svc) where you see all the aunties with tons of plastic bags is seriously wasting $$. Why? Most aunty will head to the lower deck rear instead of going up for seats. That's when the upper deck is somehow empty but the lower deck is pack to the brim.
My point wasn't about having a 3rd door. I was refering to the rear door of our current city buses. If their position would be the same as our coaches(those with rear doors before the 5 seaters(very end), I believe more people would love to move in.

it's mostly kids that dun move to upper deck

What for waste 3 depots? SMRT bus should just close down and transfer all the bus operations to SBST or another bus operator.
