DDs on 113? can.
give you 18 minute headway. no need 113A.
If 153 really needs DDs, then I would suggest not so much DDs for 153 and give it to the other HGDEP svcs like 113 which really need it. 5 DDs and 12 SDs should be enough.
Originally posted by SBS5011L:153 is solely HGDEP controlled so SBST should deploy 1 or 2 dds from svc 153 to svc 113? Or dds from 153 can downroute 113 during peak hours AM/PM peak hours because i really dont think 153 need that much dds. The demand for svc 153 i think can be compared to svc 56, where the demand of a sd applies but dds are deployed. I seldom see dds on 153 really utilised. 113 can use the dds for service improvements so that pax would not need to squeeze like sardines and can find a seat on the way home. Most of the pax of svc 113 take the service above 4-5 stops. Also, the dds can also be deployed on svc 80. Damn -.- so many dds on svc 80 are downgraded to sds.. Eg. SBS1688K. Maybe svc 80 dosent need that much dds but alot of commuters taking svc 80 take long distances.. Took 8193A on 80 today. Few standees but bus wasnt packed.. So.. DDs on 113 and maybe freq should be adjusted for more dds to be deployed on svc 80.

What are you talking, bro? Svc 80 already has 22 DDs in its fleet of 26. The other 4 SDs that are there are used more for 80A in the morning peak and do opposite route in peak hours. I think the deployment on 80 is quite right.
113 has high loading only at Kovan for 3 stops. Does it really justify a DD? Not sure. It can - if 113A is withdrawn. Otherwise imagine a 113 DD following a 113A. The 113 DD will be completely empty and not utilized.

But don't you think in that respect - almost all routes in Singapore have high loading during peak hours. What about QoS then?

What about QoS when SDs are deployed on 8, 21, 25, 72, 74, 88, 133, 147 when people get packed like sardines just because a DD needy route has been assigned a few SDs?

113's loading is already erratic enough. I think w/o 113A or dds deployed ppl will keep continue to complain. This matter was brought up to the mP several times by several residents. The student and peak hour crowd really very scary.

But you have 113A during peak hours..

113A is really useless as 113A always bunch with 113 during evening peak hours. I think 113A's freq should be longer and dds will be well utilised. bcs of 113A dont have proper toilet breaks when they are going to start trip. if dd is deployed might save resources right? Like that 113 bcs will have lesser stress and have less tendency to rush. The students taking this svc can also justify for a dd during off peak

Yes 153 has 53% DDs in its fleet - the rest are SDs. I only feel there are more deserving routes to get DDs. If the fleet of DDs increases, might as well keep the DDs on 153, but use them where they are needed the most. How would you justify SDs on 8, 21, 74, 88, 147 when you deploy DDs on 153? Shouldn't priority go to these routes first for getting full fleet DD and only then add DDs to routes such as 153?? Your expert opinion, please!?

If introduce 371, it is not going to be of any use when a 163 bus is infront of it.
371 is now known as 163M

If I am not wrong, 153 had a total of 4 DDs downgraded to SDs over the past 2 years, and I remembered MK3s like SBS842M and SBS847A replaced some of the VO3x.
Yes. It has to change with times. With DTL coming, in 2017 I see 65 to become a full SD fleet, while now it is a full DD fleet, and I see 66 to be withdrawn.
There will be a huge number of rationalization changes for sure!!

u expect? a lot of ppl also expected Sv22/24/70 to be chopped off... Sv93 to be withdrawn with opening of CCL... so ? they have already make mistake in doing rationalisation in the past during the NEL.... this time round, they bought so many buses and expand their fleets somemore, why on earth they will go withdrawn bus services?

How do you think 65 and 66 will survive with DTL having the same route. There will have to be some rationalization.
Why would 22, 24 or 70 be chopped off?
22 - AMK / Tampines - it does not mirror any MRT
24 - AMK / Changi - again, does not mirror any MRT (apart from a small segment from Paya Laber - Tanah Merah)
70 - YCK / Shenton Way - huh?
65 will be parallel to DTL from Little India to Tampines Interchange
66 will be parralel from Sixth Avenue to Bedok Reservoir.
They will have to make changes to these 2 routes atleast. I also see 67 getting chopped off for sure.
there are reasons on why SBST deploy ADDs on some of its service, even though you wont see fully packed DDs on those services... There is actually no requirement that a DD must be fully packed for SBST to deploy ADDs..... dunno why some smart alec keep saying that he observe this and that service with DDs and low demand..... 70ppl on a DD is low demand? will you board a SD with 70 ppl or a DD with 70 ppl?
actually if based on the rational, all those services does not deserve any DD during off peak periods... all DDs should be parked in Depots during off-peak periods, since the DDs are not packed at all during peak periods...

duplicate MRT lines must withdrawn? then why on earth LTA/SBST/SMRT is going to introduce new routes that are going to run parallel to current MRT lines? Dun assume anything. that you dunno.... last time they withdrawn /amend so many bus services and already got so much complain.. now buses services are to stay to help the MRT lines.
Sv22/24 -- CCL duplication from lorong chuan to paya lebar area... Sv70 same duplication till Suntec area... so ppl say that they are going to be withdrawn/shortened..
they wont do anything to Sv 65/66/67.....
Aiyo... Why SBST and SMRT always use their rail to attack their buses? Feel sad for those svcs and buses...
Just because of this... former svc 85 from Sengkang to Harbourfront have to withdraw and no more Tridents pass by my house, except for the trident cameos on 147...

I took SBS2788Z on 153 2 days ago from Bukit Merah to Toa Payoh.
I must say that the loading wasn't even high enough for a single standee.
Plus I'm the only one boarding it at Bukit Merah Int...
But that was off PM peak. At off peak, normally services unlike 190 [ which is totally mad ] gets doesn't get full. 190, which I took specially at off AM peak to avoid the crowd, failed. But since I'm the second one queueing for 190 in CCK, I have 100% chance of finding a seat. But the loading is terrible scary. 1 min after I queue for 190 at CCK Int, many MANY MANY people queued up behind me, most from MRT, they all queue and the whole 190 berth is immediately filled within 2 minutes. No joke. It even formed a ''S''. When the bus left CCK Int, it was about 60-75% full at least. On the 1st stop outside CCK Int, the bus immediately loads up to 95%. All standees, standees everywhere.
And 90% of the load was out at TANGS PLAZA. It is such a cashcow service for SMRT.
Hope that when DTL opened, SBST gets 190 back
Anyways, I've seen many MANY cases of 88 getting full. In fact, it has 2 main load points for PSR direction.
1. AMK MRT > AMK AVE 10
2. AMK MRT > BUANGKOK GREEN
For TPY direction,
1. SENGKANG > AMK MRT
2. BUANGKOK GREEN > AMK MRT.
The 1st one for PSR direction, I can see that 88 is ''looting'' away 265's load.
More and more people preferred taking 88 to get home at AMK AVE 10 instead of 265 because of it's high capacity DoubleDecks!

106 should be transferred to SBST too. But other services should keep their bendies, like 169 and 969 which move at an incredibly fast pace. Put DDs on these services later they complain too slow with Batch 2B Wrights, like 161's case now...
Still, 190 is FREAKING MAD!!! Luckilly I took it at like 4pm on weekdays school holiday. Or else, I can't alight...
