Still, 190 is FREAKING MAD!!! Luckilly I took it at like 4pm on weekdays school holiday. Or else, I can't alight...
Yeah. 190 better to stay with SBST. As people prefers to sit and not stand for the entire journey, and with Bukit Panjang's super messy ''Jamception'' traffic, best for 190 to have full DD fleet and not bendies.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:Yes. It has to change with times. With DTL coming, in 2017 I see 65 to become a full SD fleet, while now it is a full DD fleet, and I see 66 to be withdrawn.
There will be a huge number of rationalization changes for sure!!
I still don't think that in 2017 65 will become full SD fleet, maybe cut down by 50-70% becouse of DTL?

I would laugh if 65 becomes full SD fleet. Totally ridiculous... Just let the Wrights, several Olympians(not too many) and B10TLs on 65 stay.
Originally posted by TIB1257C:Anyways, I've seen many MANY cases of 88 getting full. In fact, it has 2 main load points for PSR direction.
1. AMK MRT > AMK AVE 10
2. AMK MRT > BUANGKOK GREEN
For TPY direction,
1. SENGKANG > AMK MRT
2. BUANGKOK GREEN > AMK MRT.
The 1st one for PSR direction, I can see that 88 is ''looting'' away 265's load.
More and more people preferred taking 88 to get home at AMK AVE 10 instead of 265 because of it's high capacity DoubleDecks!
88 has super high loading. It is one of the few routes where you can see standees on a DD even in the afternoon off-peak hours.
If you observe, people who board 88 at Toa Payoh, start alighting only from Bishan onwards.
High loading areas (PM Peak - Pasir Ris Direction):
Bishan MRT > AMK Ave 6
AMK MRT > Sengkang
(PM Peak - TP Direction)
Pasir Ris > Punggol Road
Buangkok Green > AMK MRT
Pretty much same as your analysis :)

Bro - I doubt they will still ply DDs. The route is exactly parallel to DTL 3 from Tampines to Little India. I only hope they do not remove the route as a part of rationalization. I for one would take a 65 to DTL anyday :P
But I am sure they will chop the routes of 66, 67 or divert them. I know LTA plans to introduce new buses but those routes will be such that it does not mirror MRT.
Also in future we will need more routes and DDs in Marine Parade, Hougang, Sengkang, Yishun, Woodlands, CCK area and there will be need to connect CCK/WL better to Hougang / Sengkang with no MRT line planned to connect these areas.

Totally agree. 106, 190 should be transferred to SBST as they are the perfect DD routes. Transfer 48, 66 to SMRT if needed as anyway DDs cannot be deployed on Dunearn road.

LOL if like that a lot of svcs need to transfer to SMRT... I'll list down all height restrictions.

In that case, ammend 195's route to not ply C'wealth Dr(let 32 ply there instead) and transfer it to SMRT and deploy bendies. Then ppl taking 195 won't whine anymore, since SBS999U did 195 before.
Point is transfer 190, 106 to SBST. They are the best routes for DDs. Such a pity that they are with SMRT.

I agree that 190 and 106 should have DD, but if you deploy a WEG2 Batch 2B on 169 and 969, look at the number of people who will whine because of driver driving at 40km/h on TPE and SLE...

Another naive comment. If the time schedule is tight, BCs will still drive at higher speeds but safe enough to meet the schedule.

I prefer SBST on 195. At least the frequency is still better under SBST. Many roads along 195 route is narrow. Use what bendies??? That would be even worse.

Please take into account that the population will continue to increase in future. DTL is to reduce the burden of the current bus routes, but these bus routes will again reduce the burden of DTL in future when it gets overcrowded.

Please la, 161 becomes slower because of the time scheduling. Looks like you are so suaku. Never take a DD at 65km/h before.
I hope to see DDs on 169 once again.

service 67 is FAR too important as a trunk and as a parallel svc to the MRT to be withdrawn... have u ever seen its loads? how many of its current passengers will go over to the DTL (assuming LTA lets 67 stay as a test and not withdraw it the day DTL is fully launched)?

Esp more so the corridor crowd. The CCK heading crowd wouldn’t be affected, but it warrants fleet reduction onto 67.
Totally agree

Ikr,some people, like myself prefer to travel by bus to traveling ny rail. Let the DDs stay!

existing services are likely to cut bus and cut capacity. just like what CCL did to 16 22 24 62 70 80 91 95 200 etc...
maybe 133 lose ridership because of dtl
worse still get deregistered

can remove some full day bendies, reduce space hogging at main roads too.

I doubt it would affect 133 much. The routes I am concerned off are 65, 66 and 67. In terms of capacity, it could affect 8, 15, 22, 23, 58, 59, 60.
133 plies AMK >> Serangoon >> Lavendar >> Bugis, so it mostly covers the NSL, NEL, EWL and there is not much overlap with DTL unless for a stop at Bendemeer and Bugis. If at all, it will be used as a feeder among all the lines it connects, and its capacity might even be required to increase.

SOME BCs,not all,and if we haven't taken DD at 65 km/h before then it's rare, not many DDs can reach that speed

So far the fastest is the Leylands. I have NEVER seen Batch 2B Wright going above 60km/h before. Speed limit should be set to 70km/h and those people say speed control speed control whatever taiji...
