228: A lot of ppl... Who? I was a half-frequent commuter myself at Bedok Reservoir. People cram onto svc 228 all the same like what they do when 66 comes. And since 66 uses some Citaros, the leftovers will have to board 228. Imagine if 228 came first.
103 doesn't need DDs. I have observed 103 at Jln Kayu several times. Even with jams, 103 can cope well with SDs, with standees nearly up to the door. Unfortunately 103 can't use DDs, sad loh.
153: You observe 153 then talk to me. Evidence? Toa Payoh. Where >50 pax alight from feeders and other trunks and transfer to this svc at Lor 4 along with the residents there. Reason? Sole service to HG Ctrl. Another of TPY's senior citizens' favourite. Want more? Whitley Rd. Upper deck 75% seated and downstairs fully seated. What LTA loves to see.
163/M: Not necessary to cut DDs from 163 just to limit DD cameos on 163M. You can always limit it to KUBs doing 163M. Maybe can make 2 DDs on 163 full day and the rest spilt?
Eh, i am a frequent commuter of 62,103 and 153.
U really think the amount of indian workers taking 62 is more than 103?
62's schedule is messed up. AM Peak every 4min 1 bus comes (coming from paya lebar) when the load is going towards paya lebar.
Have u seen the queues for 103? 103 dosent need to have dd, but need to have better frequency.
I myself have taken 153 from work daily at RTC and the SDs seem to be coping well. It is the jam at toa payoh flyover towards braddell road that waste alot of time, even if that's the case, the SD is not even full. 50 pax a kub come also wont full la deh. Putting dds on 153 is to let us commuters to enjoy the ride in comfort, but in reality, the dds arent fully "utilised" as even SD come, also not full.
Originally posted by sbst191:269A is handling the load well. Do you know 269's load?
Do you see the weekend loading without 269A? AFAIK, 269's KUB would depart with full loading, during the 128 crossovers period. And it's only the sector until the market.
And from some user's observations here, the peak loading is only at Kovan Station to Opp Kovan Station. Like what he've said, add 1 more 113A will do. Why is there a need to waste resources by deploy DD on 113? Even 113A isn't a need, such a short sector. I'm sure if 113A were to u-turn around the Kovan Station with 10-15mins interval, there's no need to fleet add 113.
Another thing I would like to ask, does 228 really gets DD perm? So far I've only heard it doing 1 day...and the timetable didn't change[410W did changed, WEF from 09092013]

3.1KM distance short?
Total of 10 bus stops for 3.1KM itself.
Then 261 what? Full route 4.1KM, yet so packed for half the route.
You know the hassle of 113A u-turning?
Kovan station itself, buses cannot u-turn. 113A's problem is with the capacity, not frequency. 113's frequency is made like that to sync with the arrival of trains from CBD for pax to board 113 at kovan station. You can add 5 buses to this bus svc with freq of 6 mins and this wont change anything at all.
BCs have to travel up to serangoon JC junction > hougang ave 3 sector > tampines road > hougang street 21 > tampines road > kovan station just to pick up pax. [Whole U-turn process takes 8-10minutes alr leh.]

228 ASFAIK, maybe trial.
All bus svcs that upgrade to dd had their ETTs changed.
101, 410W, 125 etc..
I think this discussion would end eventually.
Maybe when SG Lions Team wins World Cup.
Sbst191,perhaps you should change your nick to sbst113

Bro, your 3.1km comes from where? Isn't that morning peak[3.2KM]? Aren't you referring to evening load of 6.8KM[Kovan to Kovan]?
Let's analyse 113A...
Departure times from Upp Paya Lebar Rd (Blk 161):
Weekdays: 0701, 0724, 0812, 0831, 0840, 0908
Departure times from Upp Serangoon Rd (Kovan MRT Stn) towards Lor Ah Soo:
Weekdays: 1808, 1822, 1844, 1858, 1934
Presume PM peak to have 3 buses running, 1 bus takes 50mins.
If the situation is worst, I would add 1 more SD + adjust the timing[Total 4 buses, ABCD], Bolded for 113:
1808A, 1814, 1822B, 1831, 1836C, 1849, 1850D
1858A, 1908, 1912B, 1926C, 1928 1940D, 1944
1948A, 1955, 2002B, 2006, 2016C, 2018, 2026, 2032D
*Red Bolded : 2028 timing was changed. Initially, it was 2029
It's not the capacity, it's the frequency. You sent 100 chickens onboard a lorry, if there's no proper arrangement(frequency), you will never fit the 100 chickens...
Svc 228, 410 and hougang feeders used to have DDs in the past..it's only a matter of time before DD return to these services
likewise for 18, 26, 63, 130, 135, 142, 269, Jurong East feeders, i'd say strong candidates for DDs to return on such services

18 got alternatives alr
333 and 335 loading not justified yet.

DD on 269
Thank god there isn't any 2-axles AC buses. I could remember 1 NAC 2-axle DD on 269, and if I'm not wrong, the bus was packed to the brim lol

is it? ur reply 2 post above mine just say that u saw the NAC DD on sv269 which is full... the last NAC DD (LA) on sv269 was deploy in 2000 if i am not wrong..and Sv269 that time was plying a different route.. believe that you are born in 1996....so i wonder how a 4yd kid that time can remember so clearly? You can have so good memory earlier and now you forget ?

119, 153, 163M, 228, 62A, 101, 56 and 186.
As for 62A, the route should be from aljunied station to punggol and not punggol to aljunied station.. furthermore it operates after peak hours.
As for 101.. they should have tried 101A from HCI to Buangkok Link.. Furthermore they are using citaros.. which cannot handle huge loads compared to a KUB.
As for 186, the SDs come at most fully seated.
As for 119, peak hours empty, school hours maybe fully seated?
As for 163M, no one bothers to move up, all crowd downstairs.
As for 56 and 153, SD dosent even get full.
As for 228, dds should be given to 60 instead.. more pax take 60 than 228.
I would like to save myself from explaining the unstable loads of 43. U should go and look up on 43's load. Its has been mentioned many times.
Ai ya, you are saying just basically all other services u mention above DOES NOT deserve DDs. In your mind only Sv113 need DDs...

So what was the route like then? Isn't it to AMK? It was spotted at the 624 market oO All I know was 2-axle, SBS livery, and a hand was out of the window, stopping at 624 market. I assume that 269 did ply there eh?

So good ur memory, I only remember taking 18 and 195 bendies in the past.
All about 113? Is 113 that popular? Come on,as I've said SBS Transit know what they're doing, those who want 113 to have DD buses ,you should go complain to SBS Transit until they are pressured, that's the least thing you can do to help 113 get DD upgrade,ok?
269 got NAC DD before..trust me
Leyland atlantean ..somewhere in year 2000...but not for long..that was when they still refurbishing MB0405 NAC DM into CAC
that time still old route , Ave 3, 6, St 61, Ave 9, 4, 5, 6, 3

Was it then when 168 first introduced? With VSO ?
