LTA and SMRT is a real crown adding another trunk service between Bt Panjang and Orchard (Sv 972 using Man Lions Buses). If they really want to reduce the crowd, give the new service to SBST and run DD. you can see the switch cleary.
There are already 4 or 5 buses services from Bt Panjang to town. I will rather BSEP establish the connectivity in the Punggol/Sengkang/Serangoon/Toa Payoh and AMK and eastern area like Changi/Bedok/Tampines.

Indeed.
They are: 75, 171, 190, 700/A, 960, 961/C, 963E, 970, 971E and the upcoming 972.
And among them 4 routes take nearly the same route towards Orchard from BPJ.
I suggest 75 and 970 be re-routed out of the city since I rarely see BPJ residents travelling to the city by this service. But unlikely as the residents along the routes may depend on them to CBD.
Another thing is that 972 is pretty much redundant and that for 190 issue it is more on LTA's failure to plan out bus operation structure. To let the bus operation align with the train operations. And to separate the territory so strictly. These all play a part in this 972 an hence its waste of resources.

We have come to agreement on this now. I hope LTA also agrees and takes concrete steps soon. Cheers ![]()

could 103 be extended?
North/North-east/East connection is very poor
lack of direct buses

Who say so.
And why 103.

Extend 103 to where? It still has to go to Seletar as it is the only service.

103 CANNOT be extended. If not how are people working at Seletar Airport going to go home without walking towards Yishun or Jln Kayu?

Well, this is not my suggestion. I am asking the same question as you. Address it to the appropriate person. Thanks. ![]()

But what could possibly happen is a service from Hougang/Sengkang/Punggol to travel through Seletar and into Yishun via Yishun Ave 1 towards Sembawang.

Someone did propose this service on Route Suggestions topic and I think it is quite unique and nice.

Yes, this has been proposed as what BusAnalyzer had said. However I find SMB145B's statement a bit vague as I think the SLE/TPE corridor is perfectly connected as of now.
forgot, svc 3 to Pasir Ris from Punggol ...
svc 85 and then svc 3 from Yishun to Pasir Ris or service 39 from Yishun to Pasir Ris
when seletar becomes more developed should be some buses be diverted or making new services

it may go to either Yishun or Sembawang
svc 103 as Yishun to Serangoon via Yishun Ave 1/Seletar West/Jln Kayu (option A)
svc 103 as Sembawang to Serangoon: this route will run via Yishun ave 1,6,7,2 and Canberra link

Too long... What purpose does it serve?

On second thoughts, 103 to Yishun Interchange via Seletar, Yishun Ave 1, Yishun Ave 6, Yishun Ave 9 to Yishun Int is not a bad idea at all. It can give people working along Seletar Airport a faster service to NSL with Yishun. Also connect Yishun Ave 6 w/ 3 new stops to Yishun Interchange (where the dorm & ITE college is). It will be a unique service connecting Serangoon, YCK Road, Jalan Kayu to Yishun as well.
For people living along Yishun Ave 6 and 9 can take this bus and also transfer at Seletar Circus on TPE than going to Yishun Int and taking a service to the east.
This is how the 103 route could look:
