Seriously why does Singapore need to have its cake and eat it? It is either DD or bendy but not both, as far as I am concerned. It is also clear that the DD is more efficient as a high-capacity bus in our environment. The VO3X carries 7 more pax than the O405G, but the latter takes up 1.5x more road space than the former.
Reverse~(for bolded)
Think bendies exclusively for short trunks/feeders/Intratowns.Cbd Svc like 190 sure lots of rigids.

Then how to cope 190 passengers. Even 2-3 bendies can be packed in 190 at a given time in Orchard or BPJ.
My stand is this :
CBD or those Long distance svc have DDs, since the road they are plying are mostly main road(trees don't affect the bus)
Feeders/Intra-town/Short distance svc have Bendy, since the road they are plying are mostly small roads where the tree branches are growing sidewards to the road, affecting the bus.

Bro by the time DTL is up and running.190 still use bendies but not that much,Probably only 20 out of 42 buses?Think the DD plans also fail.

190 shouldn't be much affected for BPJ - CBD sector, but the CBD sector itself will take a huge impact. What I am worried about is 960 though. Along the Newton and Little India sectors bendies were packed to the brim, even a bunch of two bendies could be filled up there within 2 stops. The MANs have to fly stop somemore.
But this will change the moment DTL starts. By the time TSL starts this svc should most probably have been rationalised alr. Nevertheless, the bendies pulled out from 190 and 960 should be able to be used to supplement the feeders/Intratowns/short svcs (172, 856 etc).

And it may not just be you.
Its kukus like you who make companies nervous about sharing their knowledge with varsities and various tertiary institutions.
Spare a thought for others who genuinely wish to learn. Please. Use some FREAKING brains.
LOL
you sound as if the info i shared can shake the whole of sg
i can assure u only less than 0.001% of the sg population cares
You miss my point.
Its ok if you don't mind getting into trouble. I don't care or give a shit.
Its not ok if you make companies suspicious of social media and not keen on joint ventures with local varsities and polytechnics despite clear advantages in cultivating paths for those with interests to follow through(read you so-called bus fans)!
Which part of this is so damn hard to understand eh?
I am sure there are those of you guys who would love to work with engineering or even sales teams with Alexander-Dennis, Volvo, Daimler....or go behind the scenes with LTA, SMRT, SBST.
Tell me.
Why are you guys walling yourselves up?
Why it only on 190 ah? Not other svcs?

It did NR5 once!

Don't forget 180 and Premium 590 too.
Maybe SMRT remains it on 190 because it is a high demand service (which is what a high capacity bus type should be tested on), and it has both start-stop and highway sections. In addition, driving in the crowded city roads can demonstrate the maneuverability of the bendy bus. Lastly, it plys the CBD area, so SMRT can "show off" their new bendy bus.
67 mostly serves the surburban areas as opposed to the CBD/city areas covered by 190, it is another good way for SMRT to test the practicability of the bus.
Both services cover quite a long distance (esp 67), which is a good way for SMRT to test the reliability of the engine

So is proven MANdy trial is highly success and long distance service need more MANdys~ so SMRT should buy more MANdy for 972 and BSEP~

Agree on that and in addition, i suppose since 190 has such a big variety of fleet, it can be a good comparision to see where the A24 stands.
