Service 175 drivers are poor things~~

Hi forumers,
I pity the svc 175 drivers. When they are at Lim Chu Kang, they would be the only one at the terminal (I won't call that place a terminal). At the other end of the route, Gombak Drive, the bus would loop there. The only chance to interact with other drivers would be at Choa Chu Kang Int, where they would stop for a short time or occasionally, with passengers.
Do you think so? Give your thoughts and comments. -
It's a job. I think there are other jobs worst than this. -
At least they are not driving Lance 211 or Elbo buses ...

that's right. Poor Svc 175 drivers. Somehow the LCK Terminal doesn't have any facilities for the drivers to rest or what. The only thing that they could do is to either rest in the bus, or to come out and 'take a fresh breathe of air'.

This is my suggestion and after all, a suggestion.
Service 175 amended to operate from Choa Chu Kang Interchange to loop at Lim Chu Kang Rd End, with no change in route along the way. Passengers going to Teck Whye Ave can transfer to service 185, 190 and 989 and those going to Upp Bt Timah Rd can transfer to service 67. -
I believe that they have time to rest at Choa Chu Kang Interchange. I think that the bus will change driver upon reaching the Interchange, just like the airport services?

Service 175 does not ply Gombak Drive, the service makes a U-turn at the junction of Upp Bt Timah Rd and Gombak Drive, but does not turn into Gombak Drive. What is so bad about Elbo L113s and Lance 211s? I took my first Lance 211 on Friday(TIB 1010Y on Sv. 852) and I enjoyed the ride thoroughly. The Elbos aren't too bad also.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:At least they are not driving Lance 211 or Elbo buses ... -

10 mintes only right? Try sitting in the back row for 2 hours daily in the heat, 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month and then try to think again. After looking at so many types of buses, I'm beginning to like those WA bodied 0405s even more, though age is catching up, they seem to be timeless, reliable and soothing beauties to see on Singapore's roads rather than the boxy DM LAnce 211s

I agree with you. There's only ONCE when I had a freezing ride in TIB 1014 L. After that, TIB 1014 L is REALLY warm, much warmer than any other Lance 211. Even though the aircon can be felt in the front during boarding, the aircon practically can't be felt when you sit down, regardless of location. I really hope Tibs can deploy these buses to feeder services, as long journey in Lance 211 can really be unbearable.Originally posted by TIB1186Z:10 mintes only right? I agree with you. The WA O405 looks nicer than the box O405 or Lances.
Still, Tibs can't promise they will improve the aircon system on Lance 211. Rather disappointing. -

Sv. 36 drivers AFAIK do not change drivers at Changi Airport PTB, I'm not sure. All other SBST services and TIBS services at the PTB do not change drivers, the bus parks for 5 minutes at the boarding berth for driver to sign in/use washroom etc, then goes off. -
This is my theory:
The bus driver, on entering the terminal at the PTB, will leave the bus and sign in. Then he will take a rest. When the next bus arrives, he will drive that next bus instead of the bus he drove previously.
It is the only logical thing. How else can you expect a driver to drive for 2 hours straight and give them only 5 mins break? -
Actually you can make observation, you board at PTB 1 and recongise the face of the driver, then when the bus arrives at PTB 2, the driver will gets off the bus, close the entry door and proceed to sign in, then when the entry door opened, just look at the driver face when he gets on the bus and see if he is the driver just now.Originally posted by pkchukiss:This is my theory:
