67 is actually one of the most packed services la... Hence, so many SWT.
I think best is to break the service into two to avoid bunching of buses and better operations.
67 - Choa Chu Kang Int loop at Boon Keng MRT (Jalan Besar Road) operated by SMRT full bendy fleet
68 - Tampines Int loop at Rochor Canal Road (Little India) operated by SBST full DD fleet
67 traffic condition are predictable during peaks

T for Terminating for instance 966T or 55T when they terminate at Marine Parade or Siglap during midnight hours
A, B for short working trips such as 159A
M for modified routes such as 70M, 162M. Even 179A should be 179M or 179 Express according to me. 179A is not a shortworking route because it does the entire distance.
Remove all the Cs and Ws ~ confusing.
A prefix is for alternative routes/SWT, E is for express/ending at xxx.
Personally I would stick to only 2 letters, don't overload the commuter with so many sub-routes under 1 parent route.
A,B still ok lar,E for express. Those Intratowns E should just change to T instead

should not even show E on their EDS
just show
811 Terminate at Yishun Int/MRT

We are very used to seeing E already and some people may not read the text on the eds. a good alternative would be 913T like what carbikebus mentioned
well we don't have colour LED EDS so letters are the best way to distinguish SWTs

Some elderly dun understand English detail therefore T is essential and dan474 there's no need for color.Just a bigger A B or T should be sufficient

putting MRT station codes into the route data is useless, no one bothers to remember them

If people here can remember all bus registration numbers, then MRT numbers are just a handful and people will get used to it when they see. But apart from that, it is not even necessary to put MRT numbers.
What does the G and W stand for in 243G/W and 410G/W?

G green W white.Best for SMRT is to renumbered their ex-SBS svc like 61 etc to 3 digits one.
61-661,67-667,75,675,77,677,106,706,167-767,169-769,171-771
172-772,173-773,176-776,177-777,178-778,180-780,184-784,187-787
188-788,189-789,190-790,300-600,302-602,307-607
Ho sei liao
With EDS coming in for services the G and W doesn't make sense anymore.

I think svc 92 is quite complicated too. Starts and ends at Ghim Moh but takes different route.

Should be applicable to 222, 265, 291 as well. Difficult to know at times whether the bus is on west / east loop at interchange. I would rather suggest use of 2 service numbers.
243/244, 221/222, 210/211 (For 410 ~ weird to have feeder with 400# for Bishan), 290/291, 225/226, 265/266. Would prefer this type of numbering.

265 is now W/R like 315 and 317.
A, B, C are variants of the original bus route, also known as short
working trips, distance compared to the original route is not taken into
consideration. It may start and ePnd at any point of the original route
E is the express(Fast Forward for SBST) version of the route.
M is for Midpoint turn of the original route, it is not modified...
This defers from Hong Kong where alphabets taken on a different meaning,
A,B,C,D of a route means they start from a Terminal, end at different places
Eg. Citybus
5: Felix Villa > Causeway Bay (Whitfield Rd)
5B: Kennedy Town > Causeway Bay(HK Stadium)
5C: West Point (Shek Tong Shui) > Wan Chai [morning peak]
M means terminating at a MTR station esp for use by KMB routes
CTB 12M, 40M for Hong Kong island
NXX are night routes which are a variant of the days routes and can combine 2 or more routes eg N122
P means special despatch during peak hours, 8P is an exception though which runs throughout the day
5P Kennedy Town > Wan Chai Ferry Pier
R means differently for different routes,
Special peak despatch from City One Shatin, eg 61R,62R, 88R
while 101R, 102R, goes to Happy Valley during Horse Racing days
117R is from Hong Kong Stadium to Mong Kok on specified days
171R is a special service from Ocean Park on specified days,
698R is another special route on Sundays/PHs
For KMB, R routes operate on Sundays/PH and it goes to parks, 96R is one
S means special despatch during peak hours
5S: Sai Ying Pun(Centre Street) > Wan Chai(QE Stadium)
X means express version of the route
5X: Kennedy Town > Causeway Bay(Whitfield Rd)
