Is he SMB228X with a new name?
new japanese buses again? since the yen drop now a day. I still perfer MAN bus more comfort than citaro.
I am hoping for VanHool. There is currently too many Scania buses, while if SMRT is going to buy MAN they are going to opt for the same stuff again and Volvo is very less likely since CDGE is the main distributor of Volvo buses.

Why not?! Japanese buses are smooth and environmentally friendly

I want SMRT to try something new
From ADL website:
Alexander Dennis now assembles buses in China, and new opportunities are opening up in Australia alongside established markets such as Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand and The Philippines.
Who knows....?
Given that trend now is for bus fleet to be standardised to a few types for that easier maintanience - think 1100K230UBs and the massive purchase of Wright -bodied B9TLs, SMRT will probably stick to MANs in the long run.
There are some SMRT services that are under-utilised, and yet plied narrow and faraway locations. I will be happy if they can have E200 do these services, such as 882, and 172 during late hours.

I just cannot help but imagine the overhead panels shaking and the grabpoles rattling as the bus moves across even the smallest road bumps. Deceleration so noisy.

Good stuff... DDs for trunk and bendies for feeder

hopefully
maybe some newer lance-like buses
if possible some updated U31s ...
Whether SMRT will buy DDs, it will depend if they can trust Alexander Dennis, considering how the lances disappointed SMRT and the Tridents disappointed SBST...
MAN DD(12m) they might buy cos SMRT trusts MB and MAN while SBST trusts Volvo and Scania.

Do you mean the Citaro C2 Euro 6 bus?
