Trust me, he's lying unless he can bring out some evidence to show.
This Tomas if I'm not mistaken work for SMRT buses...
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:Maybe the area you live near Marine Parade, it is not full. 31 has heavy loading between Toa Payoh Int and Lor 1 Geylang. You may want to go to Toa Payoh Int both in morning and evening peak to see the queues. Again, the loading is extremely high from Bedok to Tampines.
Most services are not packed at Marine Parade area because there are way too many bus services in parallel due to lack of MRT. You will not see 15, 43, 55, 76, 135, 31, 196, 197, 13, 155, 966 packed 90% of times on Marine Parade road. But they do have heavy loading on other sectors of the route.
All in all, adding BSEP on 31 is not 'ridiculous'.
shld implement short trips then, the stretch u mention ve sv26 also
there are loads bet bedok, tampines def but adding buses is not the solution, adjust and maximise resources as there only a ltd number of BCs around. yes i do take 31 during morn, evening peak at both sides, i know,if u c how fast a sv31 arrives.you will mre than agree w me
Ironic but I heard either 882 or 981 getting 1 BSEP

Yes. We can debate on this because some services need BSEP more than others, but unfortunately we don't really know the real criteria why LTA decides on certain services and leaves some others stranded. In your point, I feel 90 did not need a BSEP as well. It has had major fleet upgradation last year and 75% of its route is covered by svc8 that has a peak frequency of 05-07 mins with good number of DDs as well as BSEP addition.
I think SMRT services are the ones that need the real BSEP additions and that too, need high capacity bus additions. The SBST services have improved a lot in the last 6 months and most services are very well managed for peak loadings.

The 30 A24s are expecting to be out very soon, plus SMRT is buying more A22s... for now...

The A24s are not part of BSEP, are they? Also, the # is really small. Just 30 buses, it is almost equal to the number of Wrights registered in 2 months.

I don't think so, there isn't any official news given out yet... for the purchase of the A24s. It not supposed to be known by the public YET...

They(LTA) should consider not implementing full low floor buses for both operators at start...
The OCs and KUBs are 1 good example of somewhat slightly higher capacity buses(base on how I feel), especially the KUB. If they follow the front seating confriguration of MAN/Citaro, and adopt the rear of OCs/KUBs where there are much wider walking space, I guess each and individual buses(rigids) won't have much problem in taking more passengers.
*This is for SMRT since it isn't buying any higher capacity buses for BSEP currently.

I hope SMRT buy different kind of buses.

SMRT is not learning. They are just phasing out MAN A22s for BSEP buses.

No choice what~ They are currently buying MAN A22s~~ Plus depot isn't really suitable for DDs. Too bad then..But somehow, I prefer SMRT to use single decker buses instead of double deckers
