Looks like 1 DD will get transferred from sv 179 to sv 241.
sv 20 must be run time adjustment after new bus was added last month.
Cut 179 add 179A,Wise decision.
20 for now smooth as silk with 4 DDs running during peak hours.

From when did sv 20 have 4 DDs? There are 3 DDs. It would be nice though if one more SD slot gets converted to DD.

SINGAPORE: Bus drivers will be directed to take a different route if they are likely to experience a delay due to an accident, for instance, along the route they are on. This new practice will be adopted in Singapore as part of a move to improve bus punctuality.
At the heart of it all is a command centre which will be set up to allow the authorities and public transport operators to predict and react more quickly to road situations. Senior Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo said the practice of redirecting bus routes has been in place in London and proven to be effective. But she added that for the system to work in Singapore, it is crucial that commuters are understanding and cooperative.
There are about 600,000 cars on our roads. With 1.2 million households in Singapore, this means half of them own cars. Ms Teo said the figure is one of the highest for cities worldwide. She hopes the global positioning system will provide timely information to motorists on the road and suggest alternative routes so that drivers can detour to avoid congestion.
Ms Teo said: "In the future, before we leave the house, the new system is able to suggest three options. For example, you can take this route - it'll tell you how much it costs and how long is the estimated time for travel. And if you don't take the first route, you may take the second. The distance might be longer but it might also cost you less, even though your travel time is slightly longer. Then you make a choice as to which route you will take."
previously it is not official diversion mah....last time SBST/SMRT do it secretly mah... so minister dunno...
There goes our freedom..to own a car at least once in a lifetime.Govt is to encourage more drivers switching to opc if plan A failed

I spotted 4 Wrights during certain days, but most of the time is 3..
SBS Transit revealed floor plans of several bus interchanges at its website. Among which, the full driveway layout was revealed for Ang Mo Kio, Boon Lay, Bedok, Hougang Central, Jurong East and Pasir Ris.
Knowing how many parking lots are at each bus interchange can enable us to predict how many new bus services would be introduced there in future.
Ang Mo Kio: 28 (16 public services)
Boon Lay: 38 + 18 (56)(30 regular services + 405.)
Bedok: 58 (30 regular services)
Hougang Central: 33 (20 regular services)
Jurong East: 44 (25 regular services)(19 Public services)
Pasir Ris: 34 (16 services)
Meanwhile, Joo Koon has 18 parking lots.

This shows many services do not even have 2 dedicated parking slots. Catastrophic planning!
I don't get it why they can't start using depots for service starting/ending points. Most of our depots are in very good locations. Especially HGDEP.

I dont know abt other depots but for HGDEP at certain times, long rows of buses from both directions will queue up along Defu Lane to wait and enter the depot. i think 1 possibility is the fuel pumps are too near the entrance. And the front part of HGDEP looks cramp and congested.
I think almost all depot even SMRT will have that after 2300h when buses end. Can see up to 10 buses queueing outside depot at one time after midnight
It was mentioned before that Jurong East Bus Interchange will be rebuilt by year 2020. Considering Boon Lay Bus Interchange took three and a half years (mid-June 2006 to mid-December 2009) and Bedok Bus Interchange took three years (end-December 2011 to end-December 2014), the construction of the new Jurong East Bus Interchange should start by next year (2016).
At this moment, the new road near Jurong East MRT Station/Bus Interchange looks almost ready to open. I believe a land parcel along that road will be released for sale this year, to develop a mix-land use development comprising of the new Jurong East Bus Interchange and some other developments.
Since this is a new bus interchange, I hope the government can take this opportunity to construct a new Jurong East Bus Interchange that has around sixty (or seventy/eighty, etc.) parking lots, so Jurong East Bus Interchange can take over the role of Boon Lay Bus Interchange as regional bus interchange. Many long-distance bus routes (eg. 154, 30, 178, 198, etc.) at Boon Lay can be shortened to Jurong East and a re-drawing of bus networks can compensate the loss of links (or even improve the bus connectivity in the area), since not many people take buses to travel intra-town when MRT can provide a faster travel. Besides, Jurong East is the regional centre of Jurong, not Boon Lay. { Or maybe not now, since now these long-distance buses provide intra-town connection from other areas to Jurong. Maybe when Cross Island Line opens, then there is no need for such bus connections, that such routes can be re-routed to terminate Jurong East Bus Interchange instead. So, for now, I feel that the upcoming new bus interchange should have a large number of parking lots to anticipate the possibility of it becoming the regional bus interchange of Jurong in future. }
I don't know if anyone agrees.. but CCK/BPJ bound services from Orchard road are doing quite well now.
Sat PM used to be mad rush for these services.
Now at Scotts road, I see people can comfortably board the buses - 190, 700 and 972. Not saying buses are empty. They are packed, but people can enter the bus and not have to miss many. Maybe 1 or 2 max.
I think it has been good improvement since 2+ years ago. Hoping with more DDs coming in on 190 and 972, the loading will further get spaced out for comfortable journey for passengers.
There is 2 OS 190 and 1 OS 972 standby to pick up pax at Orchard towards CCK/BPJ recently..Thats why u see DAF on 972 etc
Rather than SMB141L become perm training i feel its better that 136C replace it..

this is very weird...are the ETT after 020215 same as the ones before 260115?
This week 179 like no difference leh, except today around 230pm, there was a 15 mins wait before SBS3203M came and eventually SBS3205H overtook SBS3203M...
