I know 2 others mentioned it, but I want to reiterate 852 and 853 are not bendy or DD candidates. The loading is not much high loading even during peak hours. 961 also no need. Has too many alternatives along route, and with 960 having beefed up capacity, 961 is doing just fine. 170 in parallel all the way till Farrer road junction as well. Also has 153/855 in parallel to Bukit Merah.
Do know that 10.6M DD has roughly the same capacity size as a 12M SD. Changing to 10.6M DD is to allow pax to have more seats option. It's for better rides and since those routes mentioned(besides 852/3/5, 961 & some Premium svc) have DD deployed currently
Forget to mention, only 80 orders will be enough(For SMRT side)
Hmm then take out 852/3 & 961 then..but I think 961 should take 1-2, at least..

961 can be packed to the door at Farrer Rd towards Woodlands even in the evenings. Many board at Farrer Rd Market and I assume they are foreign workers.

You know we many times say packed to door, but also have to check if 961 was late. It always gets late enroute and then you have bunching, where bus behind has lot of space. In my observation, yes 961 does get good load, not saying it is bad, but is manageable by SDs.

961 should get some more rigids, it is just frequency problem.

why make it difficult? by putting DDs, the dwell time increases. i would rather have rigids over DDs. Premium svc is best handed to Private Operators. non-WAB buses are being phased out. DDs are a waste on these svcs.

You can see the bus stops from Yio Chu Kang Road/Sengkang West Road... It's Fernvale Lane, but only on one side of Sengkang West Road (the direction towards Yio Chu Kang Road) without any junction with the other side (where 163 goes to Sengkang). I think you should check by alighting at Sengkang West Road to get what I mean...
What's the point of having a fully WAB fleet when some bus stops are not even WAB friendly? Plus what's the point when our current public transport system faces high demand?
