a sign that new bus service will ply there?

Could be the Yew Tee - BPJ service :)
Overheard some convo...about SG vs HK bus lane...
The reason why buses in Singapore have difficulties is probably due to the bus lane...as heard, HK have 24hrs bus lane where NO unauthorised vehicle should be seen travelling on it(or else a heavy penalty)..[Not sure if it's true..but worth considering]
If only Singapore follow this..including expressway...
saw in fb gt ppl post that the ex-SMB138Y has been re-bodied by gemilang and is in australia now.. it looks exactly like our MAN A22s now.. no longer unique alr sia..haha.. hmm would have been better if it could have just stayed here..
this is the link to the pics https://www.facebook.com/busesingapore/photos/a.178669185506897.36688.147670341940115/1032422400131567/?type=3&theater
TIB904A is still at Woodlands Bus Park, corporate logos removed. EDS should be still there.

As of today, it is still at the same parking lot....
How many bendy buses are expected to de-register / layup in 2016? Does anyone know or have an approximate idea?

I highly believe the bendy buses will run until end of 17 year lifespans...which will not be expiring until January 2017.
TIB700X has already been sent to the scrapyard...once the December batches go, more lay up waves to come...

I believe starting next year the MK IIs will go first..Follow by the Volgren Gs.I strongly believe LTA will buy A95s for SMRT.
So many Volvo Olympian 3-Axle Spare buses already with SLBP. I want to see the buses get distributed back to other depot and serve back their own service or cameo...

I even saw so many Volvo Olympians parked at BNDEP lay up corner today...but guess it may be inaccurate given that more buses are parked there during non-peak hours. Let's see if around 15-20 Volvo Olympians had been laid up.

Sv979 will use KJE until the widenning of Stagmont Ring and Wdl Rd is done.
Probably an (obvious) indication that future MRT shuttle route would be via Stagmont Ring.

Seriously? Which MRT shuttle need to use Stagmont Ring?
TIB1185B seats have been changed to Blue x Red x Purple..
Another "original" TIBS interior gone..

If possible SMRT might layup those Hispano MK2 buses early.. Should be similar case as how they have done to the Hispano MK1 buses..
Hispano Habit....

Nope, out of the refurbished Hispano MK1 buses, most of them run till almost the end of their lifespans...only TIB895S and TIB899G are officially laid up one month earlier due to vehicle problems/accidents.
Today I spotted a lot of DAF and some other buses as training bus around Yishun Temp Int... Observed many training buses exiting Yishun Temp Int and turning to Yishun Ave 2 towards the north (Canberra). Later also observed many training buses around Yishun Ave 2 / Ave 5 junction in many different directions. Are these just regular training or are they for a potential new service?
By the way, at Upp Bt Timah Rd (southbound) before the junction with Jln Anak Bukit, there is a new bus lane (labelled 'BUS ONLY') being constructed to allow 173 to make a right turn towards Beauty World. I think this opens up possibilities for more services to be diverted to Beauty World MRT in both directions, for better connection to DTL2.

Saw the works going on since months ago ...
New services, perhaps at least one going down Clementi Rd, and one down Dunearn Rd. Perhaps 184 and 961?

Kranji to Yew Tee and vice versa??
979 full A22s or a mix of E500s?
Originally posted by carbikebus:979 full A22s or a mix of E500s?
Should be mix. I think should give majority HC buses but this is SMRT side so can shock us!
My deployment for 979
3 A22, 5 E500.
Fleet of 8 buses to start with. Estimated run time with break time: ~60 mins. Frequency: 06 mins for A22, 08 mins for E500.
I am proposing frequency of 06-08 mins, since 979 does the job of a feeder more than a trunk, and hence quick arrival of buses is necessary.
Majority high capacity fleet is required, because suppose 979 calls before 302 at CCK Crescent. Lot of people will board for YT MRT as well, and those heading further to BPJ will not get to board.
Moreover I think 979 will be quite popular to get people to transfer to buses at BPJ road, Woodlands road. 979 -> 190 to city will be faster than 302 -> 190.

Not to mention that 979 --> 190 still requires a certain amount of walking, and possibly unable to get seats.
Though a decent amount of the crowd will choose to commute by DTL2 when it opens.
