SMRT will be organising another "Journey with Us" next week, 12 March 2016, at the new Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange.
According to the article at SMRT's Facebook page, "Counting down 7 days to Journey with Us @ Woodlands TBI! Come and join us for a day of fun and excitement #journeywithus #12March2016 #Saturday"
This coincides with LTA's own carnival...

5902A n 5903Y replaced 3530C n 3531A on 965
TIB1190K (Service 912E) took the wrong amended route of Service 912; went via North Woodlands Way, Woodlands Avenue 5 and then the amended route towards Woodlands Centre Road ...
I have seen factory workers shuttle buses alighting workers at the road bend before the junction of Woodlands Square and Woodlands Avenue 7, slowing down traffic along Woodlands Square. Probably choatic during Weekdays ...

But at least the torque is enormous(10.512cc 1600nm vs 8890cc 1500nm vs 9300cc 1400nm?)...Sg roads need torque not higher horsepower.
sbs bus routes 27,51,74 and 113 are the most hated bus routes by bcs in the hougang central bus route group. For sv 51 is because of its super long distance and 27,113 for inadequate rest times. For sv 74 is because of the students.

At least 51 is only 2 full trips and only during weekends there is an extra halfway trip..Some duty even have 1 and half trip but again its too winding,Should delete some sectors and ditto for svc 14 & 61.

Svc 74 becoz of students then the BCs hate it... Can explain to me the rational...

Becos most of the students refuse to move in, BCs need to keep trying to get them to move in.

How come whenever I take 154 passing by Clementi Rd I see upper decks full of students? And there are more student services such as 95 when you can see upper decks fully utilised... Although it's not every single service.

There are some exceptions... Not every student service with DDs will get fully utilised.

Gist of the article concerns the inconvenience residents of the condo/landed houses located deeper inside Flora Drive have to face regarding public transport, particularly to Tampines MRT Stn which is the nearest station/key node.
Example given here was residents from Parc Olympia having to walk approx. 10 - 15 minutes at a comfortable pace to bus stop near Carissa Park Condo along Flora Rd for Service 4 to Tampines Int. They lament about the long walking distance, the poor frequency of 15 to 20 minutes for Service 4 and also the sizeable crowd waiting for the bus. The usual request for new bus stops (which are nearer, though not possible without any route amendment), better frequencies or more services have been voiced.
Some condos do provide free shuttle buses for residents, though that is conditional on minimum 50% occupancy rate. Also, the operation hours are limited, posing problems for students returning home at non-peak hours.
LTA responded by saying that the residents have Service 4 along Flora Rd, and also Service 2, 5 and 37 along Upp Changi Rd North to Bedok, Pasir Ris, Simei and Tampines. It also repeated the oft-mentioned "will continue to monitor the situation" phrase before determining if there is any need for adjustments.

Well, I am not residing there nor travel there frequently, so I can't say if what was raised was legitimate or not. And sadly, this is a private estate and passenger density will definitely be lower given the higher likelihood of private vehicle ownership and lower density of residential dwellings. Also, Service 4 was kind of a goodwill in part to serve Changi North Way? Not too sure if Flora Rd was the main concern for LTA when they launched the service. I'd just say that this is just par for the course for staying in a secluded private estate.
Inner part of Flora Rd is a bane for 12 m buses to ply there and worse if there is car parking by the road side.I ever drive Mini buses to ferry/send workers as a part timers..Even a Toyota Coaster got problem maneuver. If LTA keen on introducing a new service for a group of people to MRT then they should look into Midi buses.Sometimes one size fit all cannot apply to certain cases.Later when LTA introduce midi bus service to these areas there will be feedback again that other part of Flora Rd need to walk 10 mins to nearest bus stops..Hahaha.I was wondering those peeps staying in landed property also complain so much need a bus service at their doorstep.
Flora Drive has the problem of buses driving through. Service 4 often leaves Flora Road with full bus load on the rigids. Unless the rigids are bunched or a DD is dispatched, there would be pax left behind.
