at least they can drive and sympathize with the drivers, in addition to increased drivers pool.
i know that this is a common practice in Hong Kong's bus companies.

If you provide no incentive in the contract to pick up passengers and penalize operators for being late, funny things will happen (as it did in Perth). It makes the former practice of "fan pai" look pale by comparison. PTA WA/Transperth took more than two decades to try and correct that problem and they still can't straighten things out because the contracts are for 10 years (i.e. breeds complacency).
But that's no longer my problem. Singaporeans get the government they deserve.
i am also not under any illusion, LTA also wants to cut costs.
and yes, ![]()

and yes,
agreed, with TIB868X and KJ.
69.9% have complied.
Every year increase fares but quality drop drop like grapes.
will GCM be a epic failure?

Remains to be seen. What is certain is that fares WILL increase, the question should be, by how much? Unless the government is able to grow money out of thin air.

Too early to conclude,We will see about that when the real test begin..Right now everybody also can say they will assist..Not everyone can be a genuine bus captain..It took patience,Responsibility and of course the way you spoke to people.
Originally posted by sgbuses:I doubt there is that much differentation to begin with. Even GA uses the same "welcome to XX" EDS as TT on the recruitment buses, down to the same font and size.
Transperth has even made its bus operators standardize the EDS format. If Transperth is already doing that, then I am expecting the same level of micro-management to occur here. As such, any substantial initiative would have to come from LTA.
TT get more than 530 million meaning about 100.9m per year while GA only get 497.7m which is only 99.5m..I know that theyre trying to cut cost whatever seem not necessary unlike TT.

Sure will increase..By the time the three door dual staircase DD brought in you will see the annoucement.Right now theyre discussing the practicalbilty of three door single deckers for future usage.

but they didnt award a tender for a concept single deck bus...

the pay for those drivers don't seem to increase.
And it is likely a requirement of a Class 3*/4 + 2 yr experience + BDVL
*Class 3 holders need to undergo Class 4 training
someone said "to prepare fares in the range of $2 or more".

single deckers?
it can allow more pax to head to the rear but it reduces the number of seats and standing capacity.

And if the lobbyists do get their way...$3.90 bus fare is not a distant possibility.
Originally posted by Sbs6750E:If want 3-door SD, must by the 14.5m bus liao, which I think LTA doesn’t want to.
LTA should really buy low-entry buses for svcs 15,34 and 36.
In future those svcs would be like 190 style, must show video.
Not really la must 14.5m,There is already 12,12.2,12.5m single deckers mah..The objective is for those feeder and short trunks..Especially for svc like 358/359..few stops alighting..Can tank many standing pax.Can move to the rear.
First batch of renumbering bus routes in Singapore:
31 -> 231
31A -> 249

The 31/31A group need to split, and had their own formation - 231 and 249. The 231 need to renumber to 239.

Ignore him. He is a troll. See his nick carefully. He has used an existing users nickname and modified it to create trouble here AGAIN
You are wrong. You are a fake. See his join date carefully. He is older here than you.
WTH?
can someone put up a who is who list?
Hmmm... Looks like we are counting down to TT's taking over the BBT and Jurong East Interchanges....
I suggest:
Svc 61 & 177 proceed to be controlled by SBST while Svc 852 remains with SMRT until the Sungei Seletar Package.
Svc 52 will go dual AMDEP/SLBP control & Express 506 returns to BBDEP.

61 should be split with the eastern half taken over by SBST, using other depots in the east rather than AMDEP. 177 may also do well at BBDEP, but it has too few buses for any serious impacts.

Svc 61 can give HGDEP to control... Go back to its roots of HGDEP/BBDEP...
