Beijing has both DD and bendy buses serving alongside each other, like Singapore in the roaring 90s. ZYX has photos on his FB albums.

They cant obv. You should be grateful if u could even make it up the bus...
Luckily they have a comprehensive metro system so not every svc suffers from severe overcrowding...
Macau also facing same problem... Hopefully they already have more lines in mind for the light rail

My former GA UK trainer miss driving the bendies
This week 2 DDs - a B9TL and VO3x climbed from Ophir road onto ECP using the steep ramp. I think this is testing for sv 48 to get DDs. They were climbing quite slowly up the ramp. I think the testing may have failed. Hope not!!
I have taken pics. Will post later.
A Mercedes-Benz Citaro can accommodate 90 people; 35 seaters and 55 standees. But as per LTA regulation, it can only ferry up to 76 people.
A Citaro bus has an unladen weight of 11140kg, and a maximum laden weight of 17900kg. Its tyre size is 275/70R•22.5 for both front and rear.

If it was SMRT operated, it would have had DDs long ago.
MAN and ADL has more power than volvo. in taiwan, tour operators using other brand than volvo for tour buses as volvo has lesser power to climb hills. maybe service 48 should use Enviro500 from TT or the new MAN DD that using tax player money. Since most buses are rojeck anyway.

In SG its impissible to see 55 standees in a Citaro.MAN DD also impossible to see 50 standees..What a can guaranteed you is 34-36 standees the most.
You dont know , i dont know either.

Still undeniable that Volvo climbs less than ADL...

Max 35 standees. If people really squeeze squeeze, number can go upto 40 standees.
A B9TL requires 165 litres of fuel to run 170km, and that's about 80% full tank.

You sure or not,I do split shift svc 43 from 0605-0945(Never top up fuel) then start at 1601-2009 also got 3/4 tank

Yes.
Maybe I have mixed up the values,
but that's what I saw at the dashboard at the steering wheel area.
there's this dashboard which says how much fuel is available.
on that dashboard, got drawing of bus,
along with 170 and 165
in between the two values, got an arrow
if I remember correctly,
I think it's 170 litres - 165 km
or
165 litres - 170 km
not sure
but anyway, it's true.

Not sure if it's already mentioned here before but...
Below the side EDS SMB16R has one of those PIS seen on NWST buses in HK installed. It reads "Welcome Aboard/æ¡è¿Žä¹˜æ", just like in HK.
Not sure how on earth they got one of those...
