They just like to make the buses wait for so long (6 months average) just like 1553A and 1567K...although the road tax for 5026D and 5031M had been renewed, but I am wondering if they are going to lay up the buses upon the original road tax expiry just like 1301K.
1301K undergoing repair. What happened to SMB1330B? Suddenly laid up.
TIB1064S laid up,anyone can check? 3-4 months already gone.
The 3 DDs are just rotting for now, maybe waiting for 1301K to finish repair

It's not a surprise to see them outsourcing to a third party to fix 1301K, That kind of damage sustained can only be fixed by an outsider, not easy to find an outsource company that fits your budget though, Whether the electric components are affected are still another thing.

I can't speak for 1553A and 1567K but for the case of 1301K most likely it is.
Please check your definitions, Beyond Economical Repair would mean scrap, because the repair cost is higher than the value of the asset.
If its done by a third party, it simply means that the third party either has the capabilities to do the repair (where there isn't such capabilities in house) or that they can do the repair cheaper than done in house. It is still an economical repair.
