In my opinion, it is not possible. Currently, service 401 operates only on Sundays and Public Holidays at a frequency of 30 to 40 minutes, which means the load and demand are low. There will be losses if the company let service 401 operates on other days. The only most possible to happen is to let the service operates on Saturdays too.Originally posted by off_service:I hope SBST can operate a daily service to East Coast Park. Even if they do not operate on normal days, they should operate one service (e.g. svc 401) daily during school holidays (June and December) as many people (esp students) will go there to enjoy themselves. What u guys think?
If you are in the park, you will notice that there are signs near the underpasses (running and cycling tracks) which show you where they are. But in the Marine Parade housing estate, the signs are just beside the underpass, which made it difficult for people to locate them.Originally posted by Rachel_Lim:Finding it trouble to walk through the underpass.... Because I wasnt familiar with the area and even had to ask peeps to direct me to the underpass... Had the experience 2 years ago... and I told my friends I cannot stay late bcos I dunno which buses to go home from ECP.... Why dont they just create a bus service that operates at a one hour frequency
But service 354 cannot serve Costa Sands Pasir Ris directly as it's difficult to make a U-turn there.Originally posted by BluBlur:I think it's hard to sustain even during peak periods.
Currently Costa Sands EC runs a half hourly free shuttle service for those chalet goers.
Unless it has a higher demand such as those of Downtown East chalets and shops, and Costa Sands Pasir Ris.
Yes, it's interesting to see a Toyota Coaster or Mitsubishi Rosa in SBST livery.Originally posted by Superbus:Here is my suggestion.
If SBST thinks that operating a full-sized bus is a loss-making for them, why not introducing a fleet of small 20-seater buses (eg Toyota Rosa) for this service only. I don't think it will be loss-making if they utilise these vehicles for Svc 401. To break even, maybe they can charge a flat fare of $1.
...
Cheers and warm regards,
