I doubt that SMRT would want to get a Volvo (imagine them sending a representative to ComfortDelgro to enquire about Volvo buses).
Perhaps SMRT could get MAN A22 with Wright Meridian bodywork, and could be assembled by Masdef in Malaysia since Masdef is now a partner of Wright. Or they could continue with Gemilang, with better seating arrangement and without the "hair" from the hybrid bodyowrk.
Though I do hope they get more OC500LEs instead. SMRT don't have much low entry buses.

Too many SLF buses? Anyway, I guess they could use SKSbus bodywork on the MANs... SKSbus interior much sturdier than Gemilang...

There are only 33 spare WAB now meaning it can only replace 442R to 475X? Most of the 13xx MAN are having perms now

I took this bus before to CGA when it perm 858, i was shivering from T1 to Woodlands

Any buses is as good if the bus is well taken for..Periodic maintenance..How the technician put effort in maintaining the buses..No point having schedule maintenance if its just a few mins checking then release back on the roads..

According to SMRT, they have already made another order for 332 MAN 12m buses which will enter service with effect from July 2014...could it be the MAN A22s again?

Checked the updated pdf on the MAN chassis. Euro 5 EEV engines and Euro 6 engines are now avaliable (Euro 6 only for A22).

SMRT could actually take this opportunity to specify the Euro 6 version for the A22s and Euro 5 EEV for the A24s.

only so if the E6 C2 Citaros are brought in as the C2 Citaro can be ordered with the 6.3L E5 engine like the current facelift Citaros

I also would like it if they got more Citaros, but with ZF gearbox... Maybe also can get other new bus models (not MAN), can ask also SKSBus to provide the bodywork of these buses instead of Gemilang, if they still want local bodywork...
