Won't be surprised that SMRT chosen Voith for the MAN A22 included in the remaining upcoming deliveries. Some newly registered buses apparently have got the Original MAN Lion's City mirrors, and then some other buses retained the mainstream mirrors.

Is there really bsep batch 3?Cause from the bus deployment checker,it shows pc3117y(bus plus) and if there is bsep batch 3 it would sure be registered from smb3117 and may cause a confusion as they are both smrt busessame like how smrt register their batch 2 a22s from 1301 so as to not confuse wth tib plated onces

Took a Voith Batch 3 MAN (SMB1589Y) on 969 today (sat at the last row of seats from Tampines Int - Woodlands Int). Not too bad, it retains the power while going over hills and at 60km/h you can feel the engine really pushing the speed limiter.
However I think ZF is still better, Voith on A22s are not ideal for long rides as the turbocharger whistling doesn't really do much justice to the ears, especially when it did kickdowns (first time I heard the A22 turbo spooled so loudly). Also the turbo whistling it makes while travelling at 60km/h will get irritating after awhile, especially if you want to get some sleep onboard the bus.

Took SMB1584K on 187 Today Evening. BC was really flooring the accelerator at every move off. I would say A22 fitted with Voith gearbox can pick up speed faster and maybe better for flooring. It sounds quite abit like the O405G 12XX series

The drivers have to kick down almost every time they move off because the accleration is simply not as good as ZF. I would expect the fuel consumption of the Voiths to be higher as such.
If you have taken a ZF being floored, you would know how much faster it goes, but most of the time drivers don't need to do so as the bus is able to give a reasonable accleration for them.
But if you say Voith consume more fuel then how come SBST with the most buses prefer Voith?B9TLs also majority Voith,Citaro all Voith..
I might think its the speed limiter thing that the Voith cannot perform to its potential..Malaysian city buses with 3 speed Voith all can perform well mah
