I still don't see the value. There are already so many other routes 15, 21, 58. Anyway, may be there is something I am missing. Cheers.

Hmm...How about a service to Sengkang West?
Yes, a new service to Sengkang West would be great, would be even better if make it follow the 27 route to Sengkang Int first, then continue to Sengkang West and end at Punggol Int.
Route would be like this: Tampines Int>follow svc 3 route to Tampines Stn/Int stop>folllow 27 route till Sengkang Int>turn into Sengkang Int>proceed to Sengkang West>proceed to Punggol Int. Maybe can call this service 68. DDs should be deployed for this service for a more comfortable ride on the expressway as it would be high demand.
There will be no need for additional peak hour buses for service 27 and the frequency can be lowered to reduce bus bunching.

For me i think the service should go like this,
Tampines>TPE>Sengkang(Compassvale/Anchorvale/Fernvale)>CTE>Toa Payoh
But then TPY Int looks full.
Anyways, Service 20 will help to reduce the loading on Service 38. To me, the "express sector" will be better if it goes via Somapah Road so that it will ply outside Expo Station/Changi City Point, since Expo Drive is closed for DTL construction.

Man, thanks for voicing out. That was EXACTLY what I wanted to say/had said!
Ridiculous for it to ply Ave 6/9 to PSR coz Tampines residents will have to walk twice the distance to the stop nearest to the MRT. And the reason I even suggested it to follow svc 15 is becoz so that svc 20 can STILL cater to what BusAnalyzer have mentioned. See? Ok, so 37 and 4 does not make 20 redundant in Tampines int, but 38 does.

You mad bro? With Singapore's svc planning pattern, they wouldn't even bother to look at your idea, for the TPY route

I would rather it to terminate in Sengkang int where there are still berths to spare unlike Punggol int... Anw, Punggol alr had svcs like 34, 50 etc.
And yes my clever BusAnalyzer, I am a busy man who have things to do, and didn't notice svc 141 until moments after creating svc 20 thread. I do not frequent the central area as much as I do in the east, so naturally I would not spot svc 141's poster as soon as I spot svc 20's.
A bit OT but I feel sooner or later there will be a bus park near Sengkang or Punggol.
I sense this Svc 20 will be popular during weekdays peak and probably if there's a fair at Expo.

Weekends too. Remember this is the only svc that services Changi City Point. I believe people will rather this service to Simei or Tampines instead of changing here and there on the MRT. I am one of them haha :P

I foresee 20 to have 4 Wrights, 4 Citaros. I also foresee 20 to have a 20A plying from Tampines to Changi in morning peak, and downroutes during evening peak from Changi Business Center to Tampines.
This is a very good service for all the people living around Tampines and Simei who can take a direct bus to Changi Business Park rather than traveling via the crowded NEL and changing at Expo and then walking down to their office to CBP. Time and cost saving. See this service to be a big success.

Yep I agree. I had actually hoped for such bus service years back. Hate it when I have to wait so damn long for the CGA train

Wrights? Nah. Probably 8-9 Citaros again. Even if there WERE to be Wrights it won't be more than 2. Though this service may thrive, the length of the service is not justifiable for 50% Wrights.
It's not justified for such a short service to get SWT too.

I am also hoping that there will be a new bus depot around SK/PG area
Sooner we will see Bndep/Cgbp/Lydep will take more duties from their part control Svc with other depot.Im not surprise if 109 is the other way round.Im not surprised too if they minor control CGA Svc like 24/27/53.

I WILL be surprised if 109 gets more HGDEP duties. Should be getting more LYDEP duties instead.
And yeah, 27's freq is so messy and frequent I can't imagine how dual-depot control can screw up that service.

short service cant get SWT? if the demand are one directional, it is better to have some SWT....explain Sv269... during peak hours, you cant predict the actual crowds taking the buses. like sv6 and 37, they are also using DDs.. and for those companies in CBP, they might stop providing transports to their workers, if the bus service is reliable... one month of chartering buses to fetch buses to their office/factories in CBP cost more than S$3000 per month.. it is not cheap...
Is service 20 using DD Wrights? Cause BNDEP got more BSEP DD wrights than BSEP citaros?

20 will get majority fleet Wrights as there are only 1-2 spare BSEP Citaros in BNDEP, unless it is operated by SBST as mentioned earlier.

What do you mean for this part of the post? It sounds as if though another company is operating it.
