Going by that logic, KMB must be an irate customer given that they ordered up to six types of EDS for their 340 B9TL WEG2 buses.

Did you see with your own eyes that the LECIP has many problems?
or going by your logic, that SBST should continue getting LECIP despite the malfunctionings?

You do not understand how procurement of inventory works.
I went to the supermarket yesterday because I ran out of AAA brand cup noodles which I bought a dozen last time.
Just because I bought a dozen of BBB brand cup noodles this time round doesn't necessarily mean AAA brand cup noodles is rubbish.
I could have bought BBB brand cup noodles because it offers me better value for money this time round, has improved their plastic spoon, offered a larger size, or simply because AAA is out of stock.

Enlighten me expert, no LECIP signages malfunction? We are talking about at least a 17 years of operations and some of them already brand new cock up.

No EDS is infalliable... LED-based EDS is generally less reliable than its predecessors.
This was the first LECIP EDS on a CDGE B9TL bus, and it was corrupted shortly. If malfunctions were the only factor, SBS Transit would have gotten something else long ago...
I am not defending any particular brand. My point here is that there are multiple criteria to consider in tenders and procurements, and it is too easy to oversimplify matters.
Inventory can be purchased in separate batches. It does not necessarily need to match with the number of new buses purchased.
Only time will tell how long these equipment will last. Transit Media was frequently praised when it was first introduced, and look how long it lasted.
I will stop this debate here.

The failure rate for Hanover has been pretty low since its introduction. No EDS is invincible.
besides, unless you happen to be aware of any information that is employee only....

I am neither aware, nor have access to any such information or statistic.
You can, however, read up more on tenders and procurements using publicly available information in comparable foreign cities and from selected University textbooks.

damn sure you probably have your cup noodles spoilt by now.
SBS Transit not like KMB la, how many EDS do you think they want to try? LECIP cannot go back to tried and tested Hanover that got less success rate, got so difficult? Did we see any other brands coming in?

Coolair, Transit Media for the 38xx and 39xx buses?

Identify it by looking at the rear EDS. Hanover rear EDS is thinner.

Fact : LECIP EDSes are spoiling at a very fast rate, SBS went back to Hanover. Logical.

But the VO ones are still working fine....and what makes you think that way? There could be other reasons why they changed...
You probably never heard of an academic journal.
